We've had the 1000 in Canada for a couple of years. Hardly sold any. Deep discounts. Saw them for $9999. See a few 650s around. Not many. Kawi screwed up by not installing a 19 incher up front. The stock 17s pretty well make it a street only bike. Those are a dime a dozen.

And our Tenere is not a bit ugly?

No!
It's Agriculturally ergonomically Challenged!
It looks like it should, but wish it had heaver KTM like front forks..
The Kawasaki looks like the mid 2000 era Triumph Tiger 1050, but with a four banger and two piece seat.
Saying that i like it better than Mr stacked eyed Cyclops older model.. ::)

It could be less ugly with a smaller fairing, the first one in the link (the yellow one) looks like a snowmobile with wheels...

I had a Z1000 and it was the best motor in any bike I've had. The thought of that in the more comfy Versys 1K is really appealing but the S10 seems a more refined bike with other goodies like cruise and ES that are winning me over.

I had the original version of the 650.....It's a really good bike....the engine is awesome. I'd have kept it but I couldn't justify having two bikes doing the same job...The new look is a big improvement over the original . The 650 makes a great light tourer and with a few mods a decent adventure bike. Its a shame these aren't more popular.

"Its a shame these aren't more popular".

I think the new look may help?

Take off the Kawi stickers and I would have told you it was a Tiger 1050 at first glance.

It's not for me, but glad to see another upright comfy bike on the market. Can't have too many of those.
