I'm mounting my remote on the dash. I did a search looking for how folks were mounnting their primary unit and protecting it from water. I only found one picture and it was fuzzy and and had no water protection.

I've always kept my V-1 in the map pocket (under a folded map) on top of my tank bag. I works even with the rain cover on. I have an led flasher mounted next to the remote.

Ive had them for a long time.. And you are right, ANY water or moisture will break it. (take "any" with a grain of salt) I built a little box for the FJR and works great. Ive seen several other people throw it into a pelican box.. Have you GOOGLE'd make V-1 water proof / box ?

Been using the Escort x50 for years. The cover is from Aerosrtich as I remember but it has been several years. Mounted on a flat platform attached to he throttle housing. Hardwired and has a warning light on the top of the instuments cluster

I mounted mine in the area near the tool kit. T-loc Velcro holds it in place and so far I have ridden in rain and washed the bike with no water issues. I use a Marc Parnes visual light mounted with T-loc velcro on top of dash. System works well. V1 is mounted on right side of handlebar up part on a slipstreamer mount. I use a plastic protective cover in the rain. Never had any problems to date. I power the unit off the oem cig plug using the V1 auto plug.
