I hadn't seen any of those posts. 'Course I didn't get here 'till late '16. But, except for the dates, (and posters) they could be from last year. Same conversations, same speculations / predictions, and yet the bike is still here. And, still not any "expert magazine's" first choice. Accurate info doesn't show up 'till November or December. :)

OTOH the S10 does not comply with future emissions requirements. My YAMAHA dealer said so just a couple of says ago, end of the S10 as we know it in Europe at least. Alas they had no idea as to what the alternative will be. I'm speculating a new cross-plane twin, but how about a triple? I remember when the XS 750 triple came to Norway back in the 70's, that was awesome. I'm thinking an extra cylinder then no more off-idle stumble ...

There's been discussion here since May 2019 about development of a Euro 5 compliant Tenere. We are 1-2 years overdue for a model refresh so this fits with the same people having been on the T700 launch and the other new models.

There are also a number of articles recently that the motorcycle industry lobby has asked the EU to slip the January 2021 date due to COVID that the EU likely will.

But we probably won't know till Fall or Winter.

The Euro5 is already on for the new models.... only the existing models are allowed to sell as new until 12.31.2020 ..... of course everyone is expecting an extension of that date
