In the automotive world, to discontinue a model just two model years in, (even for a single, yet large market) they would have needed to introduce and discontinue the vehicle on the same day.

Works the same way in the electronics industry. Could happen but you have to know a fair but ahead of time that you are stopping / replacing the model. It's not a case of Oops sales just dropped last month and it all stops. BUT we are talking about the Manufacturer here. The importer can do a "typical consumer" and just not buy next time around.

Dallara is fine. What else would we have to talk about really.

By the way YAMAHA corporate has revised UP their income forecasts by 22%. Another bad Omen ;D

Sheesh, you guys had me worried for a second. I already get to experience the joy of owning a rare one year only model with my 1985 XR350R. It is not something I wish to experience on any other motorcycles until I'm rich enough to afford to have parts manufactured for it.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the revisions/BNG are for 2015. ::26::

Just got this from my dealer... *The* e-mail from *The Head Guy* at Yamaha, with a Yamaha electronic *letterhead*... And I quote:


"September 10, 2013

Dear Yamaha Motorcycle Dealer,

The 2014 model year Super Ténéré will be introduced in March 2014.

Dealer order allocations for the 2014 Super Ténéré will be based on each dealer's retail sales of 2012 and 2013 Super Ténéré models.

We hope this information helps you better plan your current and future retail business plans.

So there you have it, folks. Alas, it will be a 2014 and not an early release 2015, or so the letter says...

Sorry to get everybody all stirred up, but I was only reporting what I was told along the way. I would say "Mea Culpa", but I was only the messenger of the initial info, and indeed there still is no 2014 Super Ténéré on Yamaha's web site. I readily expected there would be some wanting to shoot the messenger...

So, for some here wagging their finger or suggesting scarlet letters... I only wish we had some of ADVrider's emoticons available here!
