Just had the sales guy who i bought the ten from on the phone. Here in the UK, for May only, you can get a ten with free luggage, crash bars, fog lights and fairing deflectors. One hell of a good deal. He's going to call the area rep to see if they can get me the deal despite the fact that i bought the bike last month.
The same thing happened with my last bike - the VFR 1200.
Ah well.

Boy, wouldn't it be something for Yamaha to come along and say to us here in USA;
"Thanks for being patient with us over the past 13 months or so, we truely appreciate your order for the Tenere. For your patience, we are offering you the saddlebags and top box at no additional charge!!!" Enjoy your Tenere!!!

Someone please wake me up, cause i think i am dreaming!!!

Wonder if they are dumping excess parts inventory they have on hand. They may have built up parts in anticipation of US sales. Now that the US sales are stalled, time to dump the parts?

Just a theory.

Sounds like a good one to me. Makes sense.

But it is an odd situation to be incenting sales in one market while you can't deliver bikes to waiting buyers in another.

:-[ My brain is too small to understand this! :'(

In S Africa we pay an extra 12 000 Rand for that and it does not include the topbox. The US guys just dont get it or their bikes at all as yet! The UK guys get all the nice things for free!

Sulk!

Hope they give you two sets of everything, then I will send you my adress for delivery. ENJOY!!! ;D

I would say YAMAHA UK has ownership of the bikes and wants to get some cash flow. Other importers would have ordered theirs and done their own sums and may not be as stocked up.

I don't think YAMAHA Japan owns the stock once it is landed. All the stock belongs to the importer.

That's the way it works in Oz I think.

Cheers

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen here. I'll just be happy getting my SuperT - without any extras! Besides, I have all my farkles bought and waiting to be installed so really don't NEED any sidebags, top box, etc.

I haven't heard anything yet, about the kit, and to be honest, i'm not all that bothered. Most of the Yamaha stuff is overpriced and poor performing compared to the aftermarket stuff. It would be nice to get a nice big batch of free stuff, but if it doesn't happen, i won't lose any sleep.

If Yamaha were offering a year's worth of tyres and fuel, then i would be chasing them down like Jason Bourne...
