Has anyone switched the lens cover on their Tenere? I am looking to go with a smoke or clear lens over the stock orange? Any leads would be greatly appreciated ::022::

To stay legal is your plan to change the bulb color?

The smoke color is interesting but we got stuck with the standard yamaha turn signals and I've never spotted an optional lens?

Yes I am planning on changing the bulb, like the look of the smoke and clear over the big orange lens

Hey Gonzo i used Moto Lume in San Deigo, They are a clear alternative product dealer.Just google you'll find them. The big signals are Yamaha parts bin, They fit lots of different models. Alot of guys go LED and they look and work well. I don't mind the size of the signals just like you didn't care for the look. Order CTS-0016 they fit models of R1, FZ6, FZ1. Here are a couple of pics

Oops time to get my tags renewed. Hope that helps.

hANNAbONE - out of interest did you switch to LEDs or not like the clear lenses in favor of the orange?

@ Terry -

I do like the clear, I actually have a white bulb in there too. Very bright. Very good look.

I flipped out my rear ones when I changed my exhaust to my Staintune.

It was gonna bake the rear left...so I changed them to something more "flush".

(*interestingly they are orange.!!*)

I have yet to do anything with the front ones...they are still the R-1 model clear with white bulb.

I'm probably going with something trim and sleek...prolly an LED something.

I have the WASP adjuster with my 24" Parabellum screen - in the low position the front signals were touching the screen.

I have yet to flip 'em out yet - I'll have it done just after Christmas.

Just so I get this straight, you had the clear lenses with a clear bulb? Meaming no orange for the turn signal. Not sure if I have the right but it would fail the PA state inspection.

LEDs don't do alot for me but the big orange turnsignal is sort of a bummer on the bike. That's why I liked what True Grip did. But would definitely need to go with orange bulbs.

The signals from moto lume come with an orange bulb but i didn't use it. I don't have to get inspected though

True Grip just so I have this correct, did you get just the lens or four complete new turnsignals? And maybe better stated does moto lume have lens that replace our OEM orange lens? Thanks!

Terry here is what you get from Moto Lume. One screw holds the bulb holder to the stalk, they are on the bottom. These are my old ones i saved. The orange bulb came with clear lenses. Super easy to change out.

I'd prefer to go with LEDs myself but the price tag is surreal.

Also, AFAIK switching to LEDs seems to always imply losing the "running lights" function of the conventional bulbs. I'd prefer not to lose that, help keep the bike conspicuous for folks who aren't paying much attention.
