Hi,
I want to buy a Touratech headlight protector (# 046-5095) but their site says sold out. I see them listed at Dualsportplus for $190. Touratech's retail price is $150. Am I missing something? Typically those selling someone else's product either matches or is slightly lower than the manufacture's retail price.
Anywhere else I can buy one?
Thanks, BG

Some nice looking options, thanks.
One thing I like about the Touratec is how it clips on and off. The ALTRider does push on and off but thru a rubber grommet.
Maybe I'll call Touratec and see what's up??

I have the Yamaha polycarbonate headlight protector and it mounts the same as the Touratech. That being metal balls on the guard going into captured rubber cups on the bike. In fact I believe the Yamaha and Touratech guards are interchangeable. The Altrider design is similar, though with the balls on bike side and rubber rings on the guard. I would not consider the Altrider design to be inferior in any way.

its a nice feature the easy on and off of the headlight guards which ever one you choose... ive never removed mine , just put a rag between guard and light and with a buffing action ,light (lens) gets clean... easy either way.

I placed one on order with Touratech UK last year, was told a 3 week wait, I live near the TT uk head office so was happy to wait, 12 weeks later and still no sign, TT Germany were unable to say if or when they would be doing another production run. I had a refund and went for a Chinese one from Ebay, the guard itself looks identical to the TT one but it's bolted on, the fact it's a 3rd of the price is a bonus!

That is what I was worried about. Waiting and being told it's on the way when it wasn't. Thanks!
I was also looking at those Chinese ones on Ebay. They are made of stainless and $60. Did you order direct from China or did you buy the ones made in China but shipped from the USA?

I ordered direct from China into the UK, took about 10 days, no import duty etc, well packed too.

Yeah that's the one. It bolts on rather than popping on and off but I'd prefer that. No instructions but it fitted within a couple of minutes. One of the threads on one of the bolts was a bit rough so I ran a die over it and it was good to go.
Thanks, I got that one on order.

Maybe someone can answer this for me but I am interested in getting the Clear Headlight protector that is installed by pushing -- not by using any screws or anything.. I can't seem to figure out which one is like this, is it the Yamaha OEM one or another brand?

The Yamaha OEM one fixes the same as the Touratech one,it pushes on with a ball and socket connection.
Oh good! That was the one that I liked, but wasn't sure if it was the one that installed that way. Thanks for clarifying that :)

I'll Quote myself from earlier in this thread:

So the OEM or the new AltRider will give you that "just pop it off to clean" feature.
