I know I wouldn't buy these again... I love the looks but they are not watertight at all and the observation that the internal sharp edges will cut through the waterproof liners is dead on.

I'll probably sell mine and get something else, I don't like the looks of the pelican cases...

The Givis are a strong contender.

As they say in this article, they evidently vary in their water resistance. I have a set of the new EVO Trax bags and they have survived my testing with direct water hose spray for 30 minutes to each side with no water getting in. Also the article mentions that the U shaped clasps on the locks are a weak spot as far as security. The new EVO Trax have a different design lock without that U shaped clasp. I got their free water proof liner bags, but also bought their optional cordura liner bags which are much thicker material.

Personal choice. I spent a lot of time looking at several brands in person and they all have pros and cons and my personal choice at this time is the Trax Evo bags in black.

Can't remember - do you have two 33L and the 46L boxes? Are you planning on the 33L for the side cases or will you use the 46 for the right side luggage... I like having the option..

33L on the left, 46L on the right and a 46L for the top box. With all that space, I think Nancy can bring just about everything she (thinks she) needs on our trips!!!!

Are you going with the same sizes as I? If so, you need to order each case separately as the set that Givi offers is one 46L and two 33L bags. If ordering the set, I ASSUME they are keyed alike, but not sure. When ordering separate (as I did) it's a crap-shoot what key numbering you will receive. I have re-keyed mine to all use a common key, which was fairly simple.

I'm going w/ two 33L and one 46L and will buy at the same time so they are keyed alike - I hope...LOL

I like the flatter profile of the 33L as a top box so I'll have a 33L on the left and 46L on the right but I can always switch the 33l top w/46l side if I feel like that works better.

Sounds like a PLAN!!!! Let me know how the keying works out when you order them as an actual set.

Just got the Givi Trekkers and they are all 3 keyed alike. I have to say looking at pics of these I thought they were going to be cheap or at minimal, like my givi e52 case but these are a lot thicker and tougher feeling than that. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Good on the keying. I have all three of mine keyed alike now and it's not that hard to do.

I too was VERY impressed with the Trekkers! Structurally, no comparison to other Givi bags.

Good to hear! I was looking closely at them... but don't like plastic... however not having seen one for real it's hard to know whether plastic in this case is a bad thing. I have personal experience testing the more "economical" E36 Givi bags - plastic shattered rendering the bag useless. Well-made aluminium bags won't have that issue, hence my Jesse order. However I'm still in the market for a topbox. I don't see any need for a topbox to be aluminium, since it's less likely to suffer accident damage. Plus the Jesse topbox is too expensive.

So the Trekker topbox is near the top of my list. The main concern for me for the topbox is security, since it will usually carry camera gear. How's the locking system?

I have an E45 topbox which has served me well on several bikes now, but the lock is next to useless and could be forced by anybody with a screwdriver...

The only real LOCK SECURITY difference I see between the Trekker and previous Givi bags is they now use a 7 tumbler cylinder versus the older 5 tumbler. The latch mechanism is pretty much unchanged.
