I have shopped for them and there is pretty much almost unlimited price options depending on what you want. These guys make some quality open air trailers and you can break them down and stow them in a garage.

I picked up a used one for half the price. It has electric brakes, all fiberglass and extremely light weight. Its pulls well too. Has two drive on wheel chocks. I can fit 2 Harley's in there side by side or move a wheel chock to the middle and haul one bike. Fits in a parking garage and can be loaded/unloaded/moved around by 1 person when loaded up. They bike a single bike one as well and a few open models. The company is about a hour away from me here in TN and the owners are extremely helpful. Heck they helped me get info on the used trailer I bought 2 states away on craigslist.. then did a complete look over free to make sure all was well. With one bike in the middle there is plenty of room to put more gear in and its so nice to lock everything up and feel good nobody is messing with it.

I did a quick search on Craiglist .. heres a single for sale: http://nashville.craigslist.org/mcy/3360258754.html

I have to vote for the Kendons. The primary advantage for me is that they stand on end, so take up very little storage room when not in use. I have both the single and triple rail models to use depending upon the situation.

Do you ride-on or walk-on? Do you feel this is easy enough to do without risk of dropping the bike?

I hear you. But each summer I travel from CT to MI to spend a month during the summer. If I get a trailer the Super Tenere goes with me next summer. No trailer means the bike sits in the garage while we vacation in MI. I really want to ride that big bike accrsoss the Mackinaw Bridge and tour the Upper Penninsula. So for me this is a way to take some toys with me for the summer vacation.

cochise,

I walk them on. The Kendon has a rotating shoe that helps hold the bike in position once the shoe rocks over center and cups the front tire.

I have a trailer I use for my dirt bike - sometimes you just don't want to tear up new knobbies on pavement getting to a dual sport ride or an off road area, especially if it is in another state...

Mine will fit the Tenere. It's a 6 foot Down2Earth landscaping trailer, but I added a wheel chock in the front, and a 8" extension welded on where the rear tire of the bike sits to offer more support to a larger bike.

$450 and it's been to MI, AZ, PA, IL; a million local trips; nary a problem.

I walk the bikes up using a wooden ramp.

I don't plan on trailering the big Yamaha to rides and such, but for major repairs, accidents, that sort of thing; it's nice to have on hand.

It's also been really handy for household stuff - cut trees, furniture, lumber, that sort of thing.

I had a single Kendon and it was great. I was towing a bike to my Dad and went through a construction zone and hit a dip in the road pretty fast and one of the straps came off. Thanks to the wheel chalks the bike just leaned a bit and I pulled over and attached the strap and then I was back on the road. Unfortunately, I sold it when my wife got a bike. Thought I would need a double so I got a utility trailer big enough for two. Now she doesn't ride and we sold her bike. Wish now that I would have kept the Kendon.

I really use a trailer very rarely, so this is my version of a trailer. I use a 9' long 3-piece folding ramp along with a wheel chock that lets me load and unload the bike by myself.

My wife will take only a trip or maybe two with me now that we have our son. That usually entails putting the bike in the back of the truck, running up to this meet and greet we do annually, riding around while we are up there, then driving back home. If that's what it takes to make her happy for a trip or two, for now I'll keep doing it. Any longer trips and I'll probably be riding there. Nice to have something to transport a bike in case something goes mechanically wrong though.

So how is every one tying down thier S10s? I have trailer and I trailer my other bikes everywhere but am wondering on the best tie down points for the S10.

I was thinking exactly the same thing only to find it is folks talking about what trailers are useful for trailering the S10/XT12 round the place. So to satisfy those of us with alternative ideas, has anyone fitted a hitch and dragging a trailer behind the S10/XT12 then?

I have trailered using my 10' Pace cargo but the fuel costs were getting out of hand so I try to ride there. Now, keeping a fresh tire on the rear is killin' me! Where's that K60 thread?

As for tie-down points... soft-straps around the fork tubes just above the lower clamp works good and the subframe if you need a rear location.

Somebody needs to engineer a trailer hitch to the S10 and pull a little camper along!

A little fuel for the fire; I'm building a single wheel to pull behind the Tenere. ErnsTT has a hitch design that looks good. He's pulled far heavier than I ever will. No pop-up campers!

I have a Unigo trailer I occasionally pull behind my FJR -- you hardly know it's there and keeps the weight of camping gear down low. I'm sure the Tenere would be the same.
