Does this V.2 attach to the windscreen crossbar ?
I am looking at a Garmin 660 package, just wonder how it is supposed to fit and how good the mount works.
Has anyone done this or do most riders use ball mounts?
Thanks in advance.

Mounts right up. One issue is that it blocks the turn signals on the gen2 bikes. TT sells a bracket to move the mount higher, or you can develop a Ram Mount solution to get the TT mount out of your line of sight.

Thanks, Now what is this Touratech bracket?
I'll obviously need the part number or I'll have to talk to a Touratech sales tech.
Sounds like a plan, I don't want to cover up my indicators.

Can anyone say if the bolt positions are the same as on the standard 660/590 mount back?

I'm thinking that this could bolt straight to the back of the standard cradle ( without using a TT locking cradle)

I've mounted mine on the bar but had to pad out the bar, and it's a little low ::008::

Correct...it works a treat seen here with Zumo 660...doesn't make my Zumo any better at plotting routes though :D ::008::

I would suggest fitting stays to eliminate the vibration after fitting ::008::
Fitting Stays? I have a Ram ball mount for my 660, I take it off the mount and lock it under the seat whenever I get off the bike. It does vibrate a bit.

That's a good idea. I dislike how much the windshield vibrates even with nothing attached. I constantly find myself having to re-tighten the adjustment knobs on the windshield.

I brought this up before and it was pointed out to me that the windshield assembly is purposely made to break away should you be in an accident, to mitigate injury caused by hitting it.

I'd imagine as the stays are attached to the plastic infill that the winglets bolt to , in an off they'd probably just snap the plastic anyway ;)

Do other models such as the 590LM also block the signal indicators?
Is this additional mount required on all the mounting applications?
I would guess yes.

I'm hoping the Touratech adaptor gets delivered today... that should raise the 590 about an inch.....I rang Touratech and they said it will work with the standard cradle, and no need to have a TT locking mount in place 8)

Well, the Touratech adaptor arrived, and the holes are in the wrong position to bolt it straight to the back of the 590 cradle :'(

I'd used one of these ( it's a genuine BMW mount) but it was designed for a thicker bar, so I had to pad out the bar on the S10....

So it looked like this... too low and obscured the indicator lights

I cannibalised it , and made up an ally bracket, which locks the mount securely to the bar.... coupled with the screen braces it's rock solid , and no vibes ::012::

I'll hang on to the TT bracket, as it is designed to bolt to the back of the TT locking cradle, so if I get one in the future Ill use it .
