Installed the Touratech top case mount for the rapid trap top case. Don't have the case yet, just ordered it today. I also installed the available under rack storage bag. Love that bag!!! It holds my Slime air pump, Nealey repair kit, leatherman tool, knife, tow rope, with some room to spare.

Install was a breeze! Remove the four bolts holding the stock rack (6mm allens) and reinstall the Touratech with the four bolts (5mm allens) and provided spacers. Took me longer to find my 242 Loctite than it did to do the install!

It's the angle of the hi tech camera phone photo but the rear brake lights are not blocked at all. Very slick set up.

i love your touratech luggage rack and under rack bag . i have already contacted the sales guy at touratech in seattle and went over my total order with him . i live in manhattan and i will not receive my 2012 raven super tenere until october but i am ordering the touratech full side case system and the rapid trap luggage rack and the 25 liter black top case and the black canvas under rack bag . each of these black cases will have factory installed locks which are keyed alike . i will be mounting two 45 liter black side cases ( instead of the recommended 38 liter / 45 liter ) because i want to maximize the carrying capacity of the side cases . the 45 liter side cases will store and lock two arai xc ram helmets plus other gear . i will stash a helmet inside each 45 liter side case . the price of two 45 liter side cases is the same as the system with 38 liters / 45 liters . my super tenere will have a very wide ass . i will be mounting the smaller 25 liter rapid trap top case because i appreciate its lower profile . i will only be using the top case on overnight excursions . the two 45 liter side cases will be mounted pretty much permanently . the large side cases will contain a full canvas bike cover , four ten foot locking cables , two arai xc ram helmets , a tool kit , and a tire pump . thank you for listening .

That's definitely a wide load you're gonna have there! I'm going with the svelte 31/38 as I want to keep the width within the width of the bars. My top case will be the 38. All cases are to be anodized silver. I've had Touratech before and love them. They truly are the cat's meow with tons of waterproof storage.

Off topic but... where are you getting your bike from that you have to wait till October? Do New Yorkers have to wait longer than everybody else? Sounds dangerous, they are not noted for their patience :D

everything that has to do with motorcycles is late in new york . new york city is the city that never sleeps and the center of style and culture . if you really want something - anything - you can find it in new york . but you may have to wait in a very long line . motorcycle shops are not too prompt and they don't stock very many items . riders don't really live in manhattan ( not in my neighborhood ) . the pot holed streets and bumper to bumper traffic are not conducive to riding a two wheeled vehicle . my yamaha dealer is in long island city which is next to queens . he is a great guy to do business with but an order will show up when and if everything else has been sold to allow for more space . the showroom is about the size of an average bagel store ( small ) . i am not on any kind of $500 deposit order reserve deal . one does not give anybody a $500 deposit for any consumer item or vehicle in new york city . that is not the way business is conducted here . i just know that long island city yamaha will be getting two raven super teneres ( one of them mine and one for another manhattan biker friend ) " before the end of october " . the dealer has promised to call me when it finally arrives . this dealer will also be putting a new blue super tenere on the " showroom " floor -- if there is any room . this is life in the big city . always something new . always something surprising . but everything shows up eventually .

Hmm this raises a few questions (like why does he have to wait for showroom space for your bike if you are ready to take delivery immediately, and where's he getting the bike from? - AFAIK Yamaha does not have a stock of them. Would be interesting to know if they do.) But I guess you've resigned yourself to waiting till October and are satisfied with the answers you're getting from the dealer. Maybe New Yorkers have more patience than me! I'd be asking around at other dealers, outside the state if necessary... Good luck!
