anybody have use the Touratech handle bar bracket and their GPS mount? I been thinking of getting that setup. I like having the GPS close. I don't want it all the way back above the gauges. Pics would be great ::013::

having the gps mounted high above the speedometer behind the windshield is much safer in my opinion versus having it installed low on the handle bar, you want to be able to see the road while glancing at the gps, you can when mounted high not when mounted low....did you see that car braking suddenly in front of you while checking your route ? probably not if you have to look down....

Thanks for the safety lesson....however I been riding with it with a Ram mount on the handlebars, I prefer it there....above the gauges is to far to reach. I wouldn't feel to comfortable about your superior mounting location. The distance my eyes move isn't that much more. If your looking at the screen regardless of where its mounted you probably missed that car braking.

I like to be able to quickly access the screen when stopped, not reaching across my tank bag, through the throttle and clutch cables to reach the screen. Plus its easier to see the screen when its closer....a Montana is a bit smaller screen than a Zumo.... Add to the fact that I have the voice prompts pumped into my helmet I don't need to look a the screen that often.

So now that I explained my reasons does anybody have a picture of the setup I asked about??

Eek.. I am a bit nervous to respond to you, and get a beat down when I may offer a different idea and or option... so I won't.

It wasn't intended as a beat down but a clarification of why I asked the very specific question....

I did not use one on the S10 but did on my BMW. It did give great access to the gps. This time I went above the dash.
