Yesterday I put on the panniers and Michelle wanted to go for a ride.
We ended up riding about 175 miles. Maybe 10 of rough gravel road with pot holes.
So far I would say we are happy with the new shock.
It's strong point will be when fully loaded and traveling two up. But that is how they advertise it also.
It really ate up them pot holes. I should of had this shock on when I rode it to Alaska last summer. [lot of pot holes riding fast]

You might think - why this nice of new shock on a bike with 126,000 miles already on it.
Well my bike runs and feels like a bike with 10,000 miles on it with no sign of wearing out.
My son stopped by the other day and I told him to take it out for a while.
When he returned he said you could never tell this bike has this many miles, nothing feels the least bit wore out or loose.
I don't see any reason that I can't get another couple hundred thousand miles out of it. I only want to buy a shock once.

The Touratech shocks are built by Tractive. This is a Dutch company formed from former White Power engineers who left after KTM bought the company. Their reputation is excellent. I am hoping they will bring out one for the electronic suspension version XT. They have already done one for the electronic BMW.
