Touratech Driver Seat Height

I picked up an almost new standard Touratech driver seat for my 2013. I love the way it feels when I'm riding, but with the Yamaha adjuster plate in the low position it evidently sits a lot higher than my oem did. I could almost flat foot it with the oem after I did the leveling trick with the lower bumpers, but the TT has me literally on tiptoes and it's a bit scary on anything but a clean paved surface. I pulled the lower bumpers from my oem figuring I'd fix the problem the same way I did before with the oem, but found the bumpers on the TT are almost the exact same height as the lower Yamaha bumpers, so that wouldn't help.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and found a fix for it. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. I otherwise really like the seat, but if I can't find a way to lower it I'll have to post it in the For Sale section and go back to my oem for less comfortable but safer riding. I want a fix for the seat and am not looking for suggestions like lowering links and the complications (i.e., side and center stand issues) attendant to lowering the bike itself.

My apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere; I did a search and couldn't find an answer for this problem with this specific seat.

Thanks for any and all ideas.

Touratech made their seats for our S10 in 3 different heights, low, standard and high. Are you sure you have a standard seat? One other consideration is the width of the Touratech seat, is it wider than the stock seat?

They only list two heights, standard and tall, on their website these days and the part number on the bottom of my seat is the standard height part number. You may have something about the width possibly bring an issue, I'll have to compare them. Regardless, I dropped a note to Touratech about any ideas and got a pretty quick reply. Unfortunately, all they could suggest was to take it somewhere that could remove the cover and shave down the foam. Aside from that, they just suggested I sell the seat and get something else that works. So, points for responsiveness but .......

Looks like this will likely drop back into the For Sale section if I can't find a workaround, regardless of how comfortable it was to ride.

From watching the For Sale listings, I'm guessing you may have just bought the TT saddle I sold to another Forum member when I couldn't find a resolution to my stopped and standing height dilemma. If you had read the discussion string that followed my query that you quoted above, you may have chosen differently. But at least you got, in my opinion, a very comfortable saddle to ride on; unfortunately, you have the same problem I have, someone installed the ground too low.

I liked it just fine, but then found an inmate willing to trade his Sargent set (F&R) for the Touratech front. I really like the Sargent on my FJ-09. I'm hoping the TT may have found it's forever home.
