I recently had an inquiry for some WaspWorks Ducati parts from a customer in the States who commented that he lived not to far from Touratech.
This got the gears turning and before too long we had negotiated a quid pro quo deal for the touratech parts I wanted vs the WaspWorks parts the customer wanted = BEAUTIFUL... No money changes hands and everyone is happy.
It was only a couple of months ago that I did a similar thing with another guy whereby we exchanged some parts and I ended up with the Touratech heal guards (along with a few other goodies). Anyway, I digress...
My side of this latest exchange included the Touratech brake lever extension that you see in the following pics, along with some Klim gloves, Klim windproof windcheater, numerous pairs of bike socks, and, a Cruztools metric tool kit roll for my bike + Cruztools tool kit roll (BMW specific) for the bro's F800.. I digress, again..
A well known shortcoming of the XT1200Z (you will find out later if you dont know yet) is the ridiculously small rear brake foot pad. This seams to be overcome very effectively with the Touratech extension.
A very affordably priced product that delivers with its design intent.
Now I AM NOT A COOLAIDE DRINKER!!!, but I do enjoy good value and functionality in anything I buy, and I believe this (and a couple other Touratech products I have on my bike) offer that bang for your buck as well as being functional.
The insignificant standard foot pedal - You can actually see where the toe of my boot rubs on the pipe guard.
The solution. Only five pieces but very well designed and executed.
A very simple clamping installation with one bolt + nyloc nut holding the two pieces together while the top piece is restrained by the laser cut notches.
Be careful during assembly that you dont over tighten the nut and distort the bottom clamp plate.
Installation complete. Notive how the part is restrained by the original serations in the laser cut holes.
This product only adds around 1/4" to the height of the pedal, which could be easily adjusted down should it bother me... Dont think I will worry actually.
Muchly more better... Adds nearly 100% in size without protruding too much + a bonus side guide.
It wasnt till I stepped back and took this pic that I realized that most of the stuff you see in this pic is non factory...
* Touratech heal guards.
* Touratech brake pedal pad.
* SW-Motech bash plate.
* SW-Motech lowered pegs.
* Ohlins shock absorber.
* MotorradWorks suspension raising links..
I'm starting to think maybe I do like the flavor of Coolaide ???
Greg.
