I recently had an inquiry for some WaspWorks Ducati parts from a customer in the States who commented that he lived not to far from Touratech.
This got the gears turning and before too long we had negotiated a quid pro quo deal for the touratech parts I wanted vs the WaspWorks parts the customer wanted = BEAUTIFUL... No money changes hands and everyone is happy.

It was only a couple of months ago that I did a similar thing with another guy whereby we exchanged some parts and I ended up with the Touratech heal guards (along with a few other goodies). Anyway, I digress...

My side of this latest exchange included the Touratech brake lever extension that you see in the following pics, along with some Klim gloves, Klim windproof windcheater, numerous pairs of bike socks, and, a Cruztools metric tool kit roll for my bike + Cruztools tool kit roll (BMW specific) for the bro's F800.. I digress, again..

A well known shortcoming of the XT1200Z (you will find out later if you dont know yet) is the ridiculously small rear brake foot pad. This seams to be overcome very effectively with the Touratech extension.
A very affordably priced product that delivers with its design intent.
Now I AM NOT A COOLAIDE DRINKER!!!, but I do enjoy good value and functionality in anything I buy, and I believe this (and a couple other Touratech products I have on my bike) offer that bang for your buck as well as being functional.

The insignificant standard foot pedal - You can actually see where the toe of my boot rubs on the pipe guard.

The solution. Only five pieces but very well designed and executed.

A very simple clamping installation with one bolt + nyloc nut holding the two pieces together while the top piece is restrained by the laser cut notches.

Be careful during assembly that you dont over tighten the nut and distort the bottom clamp plate.

Installation complete. Notive how the part is restrained by the original serations in the laser cut holes.
This product only adds around 1/4" to the height of the pedal, which could be easily adjusted down should it bother me... Dont think I will worry actually.

Muchly more better... Adds nearly 100% in size without protruding too much + a bonus side guide.

It wasnt till I stepped back and took this pic that I realized that most of the stuff you see in this pic is non factory...
* Touratech heal guards.
* Touratech brake pedal pad.
* SW-Motech bash plate.
* SW-Motech lowered pegs.
* Ohlins shock absorber.
* MotorradWorks suspension raising links..

I'm starting to think maybe I do like the flavor of Coolaide ???

Greg.

Agreed. When I first test rode the S10, I knew the brake lever extender would be the first mod for my bike.

I am coming from a Multistrada 1000DS wherein you cannot even find the rear brake pedal but that is ok because if you do you might actually expect it to work when you stepped on it which it does not. Consequently I love the ST rear brake; the pedal and the actual braking. Actually I am mostly a 100% front brake guy (comes from Observed Trials and road racing trail braking) but now find I have another tool in the shed for running in harder and deeper. Thank you Yamaha

Perfect feel for me..

These are a considerably larger platform than the OEM and are two pos adjustable in height.
They have a more aggressive serration than the OEM and also come supplied with removable rubber inserts.
I have them set up in the lowest position (about 3/4" lower than OEM) as I found the knee's a bit high with the original pegs installed.
The combination of slightly lower pegs and raised + different rake bars, makes the transition from seated to standing a piece of cake,, and I stand 100% of the time off-road.

I just got my XT a couple of days ago and am considering lowered pegs. On mine it looks like the the little arm sticking out of the middle of the sidestand would interfere with your boot if the left peg were lowered. Was that an issue for you?

Could someone post a part number for the SW Motech peg lowering kit?

I just checked Twisted Throttle and could not find one listed specifically for the Tenere.

Thanks

Bob

Yep, them's the lowered pegs. Like 'em a lot. Touched down the left peg's feeler yesterday. We were in the groove there for a little bit.
And I haven't figured out a real use for the peg thingy sticking out from the side stand, I know what it's meant to be, doesn't work, and it does touch the lowered foot rest. It's going to have a visit from my cut off tool soon.

I lowered my stock foot pegs tonight.........down 1/4" and back 1/4"..........not much, but every little bit helps.

Stock S10 foot pegs have the return springs on the bottom of the peg around the cast foot peg collar. I cut the collars off as close to peg as I could with a fine tooth hacksaw, switched the return springs left to right with the cut off collars now on top of the pegs, and had a little more leg room. I use my bike as a street/rock road bike and don't plan on doing any big jumps on the pegs. I need all the room I can get on the bike. If you have ever owned Pivot Pegz, you can do the same thing with them with the removeable foot peg sleeves/springs.
