I used this box I found at Walmart I removed the rear seat and seat bumpers didn't have to do any drilling on the bike only four holes in the box I also painted and added some techspec snake skin on top to help with grip when I stap something on top and I made a water tight seal out of some weatherstip seal that I also found at Walmart the box has worked great and doesn't get in the way I'm still able to strap down what ever is needed on top.

Jesse rear compartment. I hadn't bought a rear luggage rack yet so now I get that plus locking storage. They can key it alike to the used Jesse bags I just bought. Tools, tire repair and air pump always stowed on the bike whether I have the big bags on or not. No digging to the bottom of your bags or unlashing your strapped on gear to get to tools and supplies. Always easily accessible from the back.

Silverbullet,
that thing looks awesome!
Unfortunately i was not able to find any additional information on the rear compartment box like size, measurements, volume, weight.
And how it mounts to the S10.

Would you mind to share some of this information with us?
Could you mount a rotopax on top of the box?

THANKS!!!

carrot found the metal box at walmart, he mounted it in place of passenger seat....it allows him to carry the things tools etc. for a days riding with out having to use his top box... it is solid and compact and has a lock, it did not cost a lot, and it functions as described... carrot rides a lot of dirt and it does not get in his way, and should he dump the bike, it and contents are well protected.... his tires are heidenau k-60s.... it is in short a lock box for what ever you want at a non motorcycle farkle price... I am thinking of doing the same on my bike, it is a nifty and cheap way to carry the stuff you need....the keyed version im looking at at walmart is less than 20 dollars.....hope carrot doesn't mind me sharing his story, not working today because of weather and got bored ... come on spring.....

I haven't received mine yet so can't comment on the mounting. Jesse supplied this info to me:
"The dimensions are 14"x14" for the top plate and it has 6 liters of space and is waterproof. We mount top boxes diectly to the plate"
So yes a RotoPax could be mounted to it or a larger luggage rack plate. I'm just keeping mine as is and attaching some non slip grip tape.

Here's a couple more photos they sent me. A photo of it mounted on the bike is on their website.

Got mine and am still working out the spacers so it is the same height as the Jesse mid box plate. Will post pics as soon as I have it figured out, there are differances with the 10-13 to the 14ES.

I went the cheapo $6 pvc pipe route. It holds enough tools to do minor repairs and get the wheels off. I might carry a Bronson Rock if I'm heading into rough territory.

Dirtsailor,
thanks for your info!
How do you know? Own experience?
Because that's what he has :)

Not only is it a tool tube, but it's that giant MegaTube thing with the built in lock/cable. I didn't believe it until I saw it with my own eyes. The only caveat is that the tube section facing the rear has to be pointing downward as having it flat or pointing up has the opening hit directly against the right side turn signal.

Would hate to be on a straightaway next to old rider when he pushes the button for his rocket launcher
