I have the basic TomTom 400, works well, battery lasts well and it works fine with Tyre (I got a free pass to Tyre Pro in the box) which allows you to load routes via a cable and not muck about with memory cards.
I haven't used the 'winding routes' or hilly/non hilly features but others like them, if you go off route it re calculates very quick.
Mine is bit exposed on the bars and once its really wet the screen can be slow to react to fingers, but I have seen this on other machines.
Got mine from getgeared on line and as the price was high enough its on 0% over 12 months - no brainer!
