....that is the question.
Seems like everyone believes you need to get the ECU flashed. At least that seems to be my perception. To put an end to speculation, I am curious to see how many S10 riders on this forum have flashed their ECUs?

Mine has been done. Behind closed doors though obviously. Flashing in public would be distasteful. Joking aside, the quality of the flash is not universal after reading some of the threads on here. Go with a reputable company or person with a known track record and you will be a happy chappy.

Not sure this got set up as a poll...

Anthony standard flash here. If I were doing it again, I would likely have the Stock Sport mode replace the Tour mode, for those occasions were I would like the original engine braking. I RARELY use the Tour mode before or after the flash.

I voted, but since I can only vote once, I thought I'd add that I've probably flashed my bike 30 or 40 times, experimenting with various things.

Nobody really "needs" to flash but......................................................................

I'm sooooo glad I did.

I am learning that. Heading back to tuner tomorrow.
I had my FZ1 flashed by Ivan Performance but with him he has the process down to a science. Does a lot of R&D in the shop and sends you back a flashed ECU and map. There were a tonne of maps online as well to test.

I agree with holligl as far as never using "T". It feels like I dosed the bike with Benadryl; sluggish. Maybe try adjusting the clutch lever for engagement point. Don't waste y'all's money, just spend some time in the saddle working the clutch & throttle in some stop-n-go traffic. Your wrist will recalibrate before ya' know it.

Haven't flashed but did get a Power Commander with a custom map since I also added Arrow headers. Bike pulls to redline now and put down 107hp and 80tq. Would be nice having more power in 3rd but I spend most my time in 4th or 6th and no difference there.

I have used the sport setting, I prefer the touring setting. I'm in no hurry. This bike has more power then I will ever need. Can see no reason to flash. Although- lately, I've been stalling when taking off. Not sure if I need throttle bodies balanced, or maybe, I need a flash anyway.

If you ain’t tried it. You’ll never know.
Can't argue with that. And, if someone wants/needs the flash. . . . so be it. I don't want/need it, because I honestly love the throttle as is; wouldn't change a thing. :)

I have not done the flash to my S10, I like the way it is, it has enough power and I just love to enjoy every time I'm in the road! Think no need for a flash!

I’ve had mine flashed and dynoed and very happy with result. I wouldn’t bother having it flashed without Dyno tuning. Full arrow system, stock air filter 99 bhp at the back wheel. Less than half what my other bike produces but adequate for the S10
