Picked up a 2019 ST near Erie PA in December has 5,300 miles on original Bridgestone tires already showing signs of wear. Going to ride them down til early June before I take a two week trip to Newfoundland Canada. Planning to replace them before the trip. I’m not a hardcore single track rider just a little gravel and dirt let’s estimate use over the life of the tire as 95% road and 5% off road. I’ve has great success riding Michelin Road series tires 3-through now 6 GT on my 107k Concours.
Any thoughts from the group on a long mileage, quiet, fuel efficient tire set for minimal dirt duty? Michelin Anakee series was mentioned to me seems its OEM on a number of the BMW GS bikes.

So do you pack heavy? That makes a difference in which tire you'd want. I like MotoZ Tractionator GPS for what your talking about. For rougher sloppy terrain I like MotoZ Tractionator Adventure. But Cycledude (forum member) had a Michelin Trail Max and after we got back from Prudhoe Bay ~9,000 the tire still had thousands of miles left. If you are only doing gravel roads that are mostly packed and some dirt I would seriously consider a set of those. I believe they might have a higher load rating too.

Congrats on the bike.

PR 6 is quiet and very good in the wet, but not in the dirt/gravel so much. MotoZ GPS Tractionators will last an easy 10k with a mix of on and off road use. Not that loud on pavement until they cup in the front, then you'll notice more noise when you lean off center. I didn't feel it was an issue. I loved Mitas E-07s as well and they last great. Not the E-07 Plus! Much less tread life on the Plus version.

I was a big fan of Heidenau K60 Scouts too, for their longevity and general behavior. Not as good as the Mitas in the wet, (some heavy throttle guys hated their wet traction), but for adventure touring both worked well.

The Anakees have a good rep for longevity. Some trade off for wet pavement traction compared to the PR-6.

I'm a big proponent of the Mitas E07 tires (the original compound, not the newer E07+ version that was made for heavier ADV bikes). I've used them quite a bit on gravel, and they're pretty sure footed. The biggest reason I use them is their longevity; my current rear E07 has 6000 miles on it, and it'll be good for many more. I've gotten as much as 9800 miles from a rear, whereas I usually run between 3500-5000 miles for rear tires like Battlewings or Shinko 705's. I've found them to be an excellent touring tire that won't require that you stop halfway through a trip to swap rubber. I find them to perform well on wet roads, and they handle just fine on the road (though I'm not the kind of rider that you'd call an envelope-pusher). They do suck in the sand and mud, but most tires that are primarily street tires tend to do that.

I couldn't tell you if they're noisy, as I always wear earplugs when I ride.

I highly recommend the Dunlop TrailMax Mission tires for the Super Tenere, they ain’t cheap but i believe they will outlast any other tire made for the Super Tenere. They work excellent on both pavement and gravel. I currently have a set with over 15,000 miles on them and they look like they will be good for another 5,000 miles. I believe all the Super Tenere’s in the last Ironbutt rally were using Dunlop TrailMax Mission tires.
I have also used the Mitas tires so many folks recommend, they didn’t give me any trouble but they were worn out at 10,000 miles.
I’ve never used Continental Trail Attack tires but they do supposedly come with a very nice warranty, where if you get a flat they will tow your bike and replace the tire for free, the warranty is only good in North America.

A very happy camper here with Mich Anakee Adventures for my S10. On my second set since I started using them in '19.
Great on the slab in all conditions and fairly decent for light work off the slab. Only negative is the front tire "howls"
at speed when there is any slight lean or a turn but I have become used to it and now just consider it part of the visceral
motorcycle riding experience.
