It has straps. I'm not sure if there is a magnetic component or not as I've never used it, but can check for you later today.

I like the Yamaha bag as well. I'm currently using a Cortech bag that requires no straps. Does the Yamaha bag "require" one to utilize the straps? Can you tell me how the process is for refueling? Sorry to be a pest. LOL

There is a quick release buckle by the seat. Pinch that and unhook the from the top of the tank. Easy. The magnet really just keeps it from slipping cause I think the hook and buckle are plenty to keep it attached.
