Gorgeous bike. But not gorgeous enough to replace my plain Jane. :D
I still got mine. Last time I rode it. It left me stranded. IMG_4485.jpegItcoughed and choked and died. Seems like I’d get a code to show. I’ve never seen a code on the dash n 72k miles. I had a fuel pump go out about 10 months ago. It never showed a code. I had it replaced ,wiring recall done and a valve check. Took 3 1/2 months to get it back. Then had to take it back 200 mile round trip because the light bar and cruise didn’t work. Another month wait. The tiger has an annoying wrench blinking on the dash now. It’s for the 600 mile oil change I did. Dealer 100 miles away has to turn it off. I stuck a piece of tape over it. The service manager there was killed leading a large group ride a couple of days ago. The mechanic said he hit an 18 wheeler that was turning Sounds like he wasn’t looking ahead. I may have finally found a decent service department with a veteran mechanic that I can actually trust and talk to.
My Tiger has a 3 year warranty. Hope I don’t need it.

Lots of folks claim to love Yamaha because they are less complex, the issues you just described seem pretty complex to me. Hopefully your new dealer will be able to resolve the issues soon without spending a fortune doing it.

There is an app called Tuneecu that works only on an android phone. Using any Bluetooth OBDII reader, you can reset the wrench, service mileage, fuel map, and bunch of other stuff. Forget how much it cost as I have had it for a bit of time.

On this date, November 10, 1885, 17 year old Paul Daimler made the first ever journey on a motorcycle. The short drive, over a distance of 5.5 kilometres from Cannstatt to Untertürkheim in southern Germany, was made on the gasoline reitwagen, the invention of Paul’s father Gottlieb Daimler, and his colleague Wilhelm Maybach.
Daimler and Maybach had been experimenting with the internal combustion engine for a number of years, devoting their endeavors to producing a lightweight design that would be capable of propelling a vehicle.
In 1885, they came up with a design that was small and light enough to perform the task. Nicknamed ‘the grandfather clock’ for its pendulum-like appearance, the small combustion engine was affixed to a custom-made cycle, and the petroleum reitwagen was born.
It was a primitive wooden-framed machine running on ironclad wooden wheels, with no suspension and only a rear brake. The engine had 0.5 horsepower, and gave a top speed of 11 km/h.

Looks like the first brand new motorcycle I ever bought. A 1984 Yamaha XT600. The first of my 8 XT bikes.

This one appears to be the 34 liter Tenere version that I don't believe was sold in the US.
