Judging by the landing gear I do not think that is a Hawker Hurricane.
That pilot(?) is also wearing a US Army Air Forces "crush cap" and that is either a US military Harley or Indian.
Time to research....

It is an early version Supermarine Spitfire that was flown by the USAAF.
The pilot is Capt. Sam Houston 52nd FG / 4th FS USAAF.
