Tire question about Mitas E-07 DAKAR

Can anyone who has purchased a set of Mitas E-07 DAKARS please tell me if "DAKAR" is written on the sidewall?
Thanks

Edit:
I have tried to research this to death and cannot find what the visual difference is between the regular E-07 and the Dakar, other than it appears that there is supposedly a yellow stripe on the Dakars and they have an extra ply in the sidewall. I'm asking for clarification because I just received what are supposed to be Dakars but they have "Enduro" written on the sidewall, have no yellow stripes, and only have 3 ply sidewalls.

Re: Tire question

I don't have the Mitas, but have read extensively on the forums and am pretty sure the yellow stripe IS proof you have the Dakar model.
Or, that is the "label" (Dakar) for the extra stiff additional ply version of the E-07.

Re: Tire question

I was told that the yellow stripe indicated the Dakar version of the E07 by the Twisted Throttle rep.

Re: Tire question

Bet both versions make a fine tire for the Super Tenere. In fact, if the bikes were shod with them on the show room floor it would FAR BETTER represent the mission statement of this bike for those who have never seen one before.

But I gotta admit I would want the yellow (tan) stripe just because it BEGS for questions on the sidewalk that would offer ample opportunity for great tales of ADVenture. :) Strangers need to hear bucket list folklore! lol

as soon as the rain stops I will check the tires on my bike for the word Dakar.... it had a yellow stripe I think.... interestingly when I got mine I had a set of heidenaus and could compare the tires side by side... the k60s looked bigger and the profiles were different . and by looking at them you would swear the k60 was the more robust tire , but I put them on the scale . the dakars were over a pound heavier ( rear tire weights compared ) . so looks can be deceiving the dakars just looked smaller and smaller looks less robust.... but there was more rubber by weight on the mitas eo 7 dakars... the dakars have been a good tire so far ,bike handles quicker than with k60s... but and here is the rub on dakars... on my bike at speeds over 75 mph the bike feels less stable darty even... easily upset by small irregular features such as the center stripe when crossing over in a passing event at speed... the k60s never acted that way... other than that I like the dakars.

says endure on the side wall, yellow stripe along the chicken strips.... hope this helps...
Thanks Madhatter!
If I could ask you one more favor though, it would be to see how many plys the sidewall has. My tire has no yellow stripe, and only has a 3 ply sidewall, but the paper wrapper from Mitas that was around the tire that I received says it's a Dakar.

I ordered and got E-07 Enduro, says sidewall plys 2 polyamide. No yellow stripe. Dakar was more money.
Wow, ok. So the only difference between my new Dakar and your tire is that the sidewall says 1 polyester and 2 polyamide.
For reference, the tire dates are 0216 for the front and 4316 for the rear.

Scott - you have the Dakar. Ride on... FYI... it is such a burly tire that it is basically a run-flat. Heavy... but VERY burly!!

Are we gonna see you at Romney? I still remember "chasing" you to the ER and pushing Fancy harder than I ever had with knobbies on just to keep you in sight.

Ok, Dakar it is then!

Sorry Harrison, I won't be able to make it to Romney this year. Going on a 5 week trip the week after Romney and can't get out of here a week earlier to swing by there first.
We're even now though, cause I didn't see you there last year. ^-^

I think I'll behave more on the road now with E-07's than I did with PR4's :D

You made me go look. :D I have two E07 Dakar rears and one front in the garage. Mounted to two S10s. None have the yellow/tan stripe. Both rears say 5 plies for tread and 3 plies for side walls, so they are Dakars, which is what I ordered. Both do say Enduro. Both also are rated M&S. Gotta love a motorcycle tire rated mud and snow. K60s are rated M&S too. I've run 5 or 6 sets of K60s, but this is my first set of E07s. So far, pleased with them.

@bob dirt - Where did you buy yours from? And how many plies does it say on the side wall?

On the Dakar rear tire, the plies are this:

Tread Plies Sidewall Plies
3 Polyester + 1 Polyester
2 Polyamide 2 Polyamide

That's what mine say, despite no yellow stripe. I ordered Dakars, and that's what I got, but never really considered the yellow stripe. They apparently stopped doing that at some point, or for some markets.

On my Enduro tires, date codes posted earlier, the front says simply 2 plies polyamide, the rear says tread plies 2 polyamide and sidewall plies 2 polyamide. So it's the extra ply of polyester that makes the E07 a Dakar.
The Enduro was very easy to install, popped the front on with my thumbs, needed spoons for the rear but no effort at all.
I got 18,000 kms from the stock Bridgestone rear (front had lots of tread left but replaced it anyway) and I have 3000 on the Mitas so far.

Put on a new rear Dakar. Immediately noticed tracking on grooved pavement. That goes away after a couple hundred miles.

But guess I will have to slow down. Sunday (300+ on rear, 15k front) riding with friends, all great riders that I have thousands of miles with, asked a friend with a Stratoliner (Yamaha 1900 cc) like I used to have. Asked to run them off just to see how they compared.

We were in town and agreed to hit it at the 55 line. Running about 35 (hard to keep it down knowing what is coming) we throttled up. I kept even but shifted too soon. Fell back about 3 feet from his back fender. Stayed there till I backed off at 120.

Did not realize I should have worried about my tires. But really happy with (I am an idiot) the 10 in touring mode!
