This is what im thinking im going to buy, Shoei Multitech... For my head it fits great.. I was even thinking of saving for a Schuberth but the fit is funky and when you raise the front part it hits my chin every time.. Just doesn't fit me that great.... I'm going to go try on the Shoei again just to double check..... The new Bell looks really cool, but after my home work, it gets bad reviews...haikman said:Any thoughts on the modular helmets? I like the Shoei Multitech but notice that the the higher end manufacturers don't have many options in this type of helmet. I assume that they can not be as strong as a ridge but how much difference is there and they sure have some advantages.
Hadn't seen that one before. Looks pretty cool!Kevhunts said:I wish I could get one of those BYE Tenere helmets but can't find them anywhere.
I was sort of a cheap helmet buyer for years. I did make sure the certs were both dot (duh) and more importantly, Snell. When I bought my FZ back in 2004, I was enticed into both trying and buying a Arai. I'll never go back. I currently have a Corsair V, and even my lovable but somewhat numb wife exclaimed:" It is so comfortable that I could barely tell I had it on, and the shield is so good it seems like it is open when it is closed." Nuff said. If she notices it, it is real.haikman said:Anyone have something that they just love? All of mine are off MX helmets and I need something with blue tooth or able to add it for music and phone. Tell me what you like so I can get working on that. Thanks

so: keep in mind that Arai makes both different helmet shell sizes and head shape interiors. Prior to that Quantum f that I bought in 04, most helmets didn't fit worth a hoot. I have an odd shaped head, it seems. The Arai's fit very well. The big thing is try more than one style, to find which fit fits. Their website explains which is which. I repeat: my Bell Moto 7 feels like a cloth wrapped Brick in comparison; sad to say. I was a big Bell buyer/fan for years, and they used to be the best of the best. I buy Arais now. I have the Moto 7, it isn't bad, but it is no Arai. Nothing would make me happier than Bell start making helmets back in the USA, and become a serious competitor to Arai. But good and great speak for themselves.
I totally agree with you.. I currently have a ARAI XD and love it.. Feel like your in a fighter jetwne you lock the sheild down . .This one can get a little warm but I sure don't mind in the winter time. Great body fit, finish and paint...Japanese Cadillac of helmets.

Good price too.

Bell has come a very long way since the Moto 7. The Star and the Moto 9 are top of the line and state of the art. I now have an Arai XD and a Shoei X- 11. My next helmet will be a Bell again. I also have a Moto 7 which was a bit of a let down but is now 8 YO. Bell bought back their powersports division ~ 10 years ago and is finally back where they should be.Yamaguy55 said:I was a big Bell buyer/fan for years, and they used to be the best of the best. Hard to say with the helmet closed in 100+ deg heat and in the color black. With that said, on the FJR at speed it's not bad, but in town at slow speeds and the FJR windshield down is when this helmet shines. Just flip it open with the inner shield down and its like you turned on the A/C. Well almost~TABASCO~ said:Very cool COMBO...
How is the venting ? Do you feel it gives you enough air ? Any other info would be great !
