Hi
I have a 2020 Tenere standard model, the bike has been dyna tuned and an Aprokovich end can fitted, the bike has now done 15000 miles and the throttle is impossible. apart from the speedo being 10% out across the range, the return spring is really fierce and it is impossible to hold a steady speed, I had longer throttle cables installed by Yamaha Main dealer and there is no play available on the throttle cable adjuster and no play apart from 1 or 2 mm on the throttle
itself so cannot wind it off, this has become such a problem I might exchange it for a different model, any ideas as I have run out

Regards Tony

I recall someone on this forum substituted a weaker throttle return spring. Hang on a sec.... Here it is:

Maybe this will help?

That is wierd that your speedo is off. If my tire is new, mine matches my GPS exactly. What size rear tire are you running?

Sounds like a ham fisted job at the dealer - why were longer cables needed; was it for after market bars or risers?

Whatever, there should be c. 3-5 mm of slack - take it back & get the dealer to fix it. It really is such a simple job to get right there can be no excuses. They can sort the spring tension at the same time.

I can’t offer anything about the cable but there is a product called Speedo Healer that definitely works. I think the company is called Healtech ABC’s the instructions are always spot on.
I’ve put them on my TDMs; just put one on my S10; and put one on my mates GSX1400.
They work.

My Gen 2 2017 speedo is way out too. Indicated 77mph = 70mph in the sat nav

All of mine are perfect now as I set them according to a GPS unit
Very handy when you live where the politicians regard police as tax collectors.

It sounds like the cables aren’t routed correctly or installed in the fuel injection push/pull pulleys. The speedo error appears to be a flash or tune issue.
