We was working our way to the crossing of the Dirty Devil river, we thought once we made it there it would be easy riding on out to the highway and water!
Because on my topo map the road was listed as easy two sold lines like a car dirt road. and I had read another ride report of some guys on bikes that came up to the crossing and it looked deep so they stopped and a car came by and didn't even stop just drove right through.
Russ sent me this one E-Mail
Lots of sand.
The Dirty Devil.
Then we started to climb away from the Dirty Devil on a good road.
But it soon dropped back down into a dry creek bed and became the worst rock and sand trap we came across. It made minuets seem like hours. It was about 100*F and No water to drink.
I never took another picture because we were just trying to survive.
I don't know how Ken could possibly be riding through this wounded.
When we came to Poison Spring, I stuck my head under just to cool off then I took off and never stopped again until I had water to drink.
I guess Russ and Ken couldn't resist and drank from the spring.
Corbin got a mouth full but spit it back out, he just couldn't swallow.
Later a UTV with two guys working [testing the water of the Dirty Devil River] came by and gave them guys some water to drink, that would be the only other guys we seen on this whole road for the two days we were on it.
We all made it out to Hanksville for fresh water and some food and rest.
