I finally figured out what I should have tried in the beginning which was a MRA x-Creen touring spoiler. I put the clamp on spoiler on my Madstad screen and I mean this when I say this, no BS, just a massive difference. Buffeting all but gone and I rode around with my visor up on the interstate. Wind management is an interesting thing, that is for sure. I only have one problem and that is that I wish my madstad screen was shorter. The x-Creen blocks my vision a little and I would prefer it not to. I guess I could go back to stock or cut the Madstad down. I think it is too late to exchange it anyway. At any rate, I am HAPPY! ;D

I can't seem to find it now, but I could have sworn the info I got along with the Madstad bracket says you can mount the bracket in the upper or lower mounting holes on the bike. I think the stock shield was mounted in the upper set of holes, so you may be able to move the entire bracket down? I am also not next to my bike to verify so maybe I am not remembering it correctly. I am thinking you just need to move the rubber threaded nuts to the lower set of holes? See the holes in blue? The lowest hole is just behind the plastic trim piece, but I think the bracket will fit behind that.

I suspect that the overall height of the screen and spoiler is part of your solution. Shortening or cutting the shield down might risk reintroducing the buffeting.

Stock screen with a clear bolt on MRA spoiler and the second generation of Propsoto's black powder coated brackets. No flex. No buffeting what so ever. And much easier to adjust than the annoying stock set up. When I want air it all slides down and folds away. Looks good too.

Thanks for this suggestion. I just tried it and as best I can tell, you cannot do this with the Madstad bracket. At least on the 2014, the front plastic trim screws in on the side and the Madstad bracket blocks it. That is pretty much a no-go unless you don't want that trim in place. Also, only the lower screw can be screwed in, the top holes don't line up. I guess you could go with spacers....maybe, but again, that trim gets blocked.

Gotcha. Like I said, I know it said something about being able to mount on the upper and lower holes, so maybe I am misunderstanding what it is talking about. Oh, by the way, what Madstad windscreen did you get? I know they have different heights and offer a few different shapes. Just curious.

I have the 20 inch Tenere shaped screen. If I had to do it agin, I would probably go with the same screen, but 18 inches plus the spoiler on top. Height would be perfect.
