Ordered mine from Duelle racing 30 July. Received one week later. No center strip.
Guess they are 2013 version.

Choose the regular ('Adventure') version where easy fitting & removal or minimal unsprung weight are important, while the beefier 'Dakar' version offers improved puncture and chip resistance and is a better choice for serious riding in Australian off-road conditions. To help reduce confusion,to differentiate between the two. Telling them apart when new is easy: the Dakar version has a yellow stripe on the tread.

This may apply? From Mitas website.

I just checked my rear tire from this spring, and it has the same type of wear bars, just off to the side from center. I think it is a wear bar. Once you get down to it, the tire is ready for replacement, and/or it slows down further overall tread wear until you replace the tire. There is enough tread on that tire that you will not notice any difference, IMHO.

I think Mark is right. Looking at the photos above, you can see the "center strip" is considerably recessed from the abutting treads. It certainly appears to be a wear bar. I wouldn't worry about it - it looks like a very effective way of telling you when the tire needs replacement.

that does not look like a wear bar in the center. looks like a center strip but a bit recessed.
Not as wide as k60's though, if its there to stay on 07s, although totally unnecessary imo.

I agree that would be a pretty large wear bar. I was sold on the Mitus 07 before the center bar. Now I'm a bit hesitant. The Heidenau K60 are great off road but I've read a bit sketchy on wet pavement. Not sure if it's due to their center bar. Now I'll be waiting for some reviews to see if I'll be going with these.

E Engler is spot on. The Dakar version of the E-07 comes with a yellow stripe to differentiate it from the regular E-07. Yellow stripe means it has an extra ply on both the side wall and tread. It's a beefier tire, thus the Dakar name. The yellow stripe is a rubberized paint that wears off over time. When ordering, you have to specify if you want the regular or the Dakar. The Dakar costs a few dollars more. It's personal choice. Do you want or need the beef or not. Don't be bummed man, now you can bounce over logs and boulders with confidence knowing those beefy yellow striped Dakars won't let you down. Cheers, Barry

BTW. You can tell the date of tire manufacture by looking at the information molded into the side wall where it gives the tire information. Look for a number that will usually read like 2514 or 4213 or some some such number. The first numbers are the week of the year it was made, the second number is the year. The examples I gave would indicate the first tire 2514, was made in the 25th week of 2014. 4213, 42nd week of 13. Hope this helps.

thanks for this lesson in tire "code" deciphering. we all know what the yellow stripe means. we are not talking about the yellow stripe. this conversation is about the new center strip in the middle.

I get the WTF now. That's a new one for sure. Mine are 3713. 37Th week of 2013, no middle tread bar. Damn, makes me want to look around for another old style. Tried a set of K60's before the Mitas. The solid center is what I didn't like about them especially in the wet Northwest. Slippery. Also, they really square up after a while. I like the Mitas the best of all them I've had. I imagine MX1 has info about the new tread style.

i'll post pics of my mitas shipement that showed up.

It's a wear bar of sorts, not a center stripe like the k60's.

the dakar (4 ply) http://www.mx1canada.com/mitas-e07-dakar-rear-tire-150-70-17-tubeless.html
is the same design as the e-07 (3 ply)http://www.mx1canada.com/mitas-e07-dual-sport-rear-tire-150-70-17-tubeless.html

btw...you should all stop buying these tires.. demand is up, and so is the price. They are horrible horrible tires ;)

To late I ordered some of US dealer last night. I must be really rough on tires. Went thru a set of K60s with both the front and rear nearing the wear bars in 9k miles. Will be interested to see how the E07 compares.

Just got my front and rear E07 tires purchased from Motorace in yesterday for $289 delivered. Manufactured 6/14 and they have the center stripe. I did notice that the the front is marked with max psi of 36 psi and the rear at 40 psi.

I will be using the tires for the Rally in Arkansas. Question for you guys here. What pressures are you using for the tires?

Picking up my set today. Can't wait to try them out!
I looking forward to trying them out as well. It will be nice for me to compare them to the K60s. If I have time this weekend, I am going to try to get them mounted.

sorry Bruce, but that's not the case. I'm on my 4th rear mitas, and the center strip is the mid point of wear.
You can easily run these down to the carcass (no more knobbie showing) at that point you should be swapping to a new rear, as they become slick as shit, in the rain.
Riding lots of gravel, I get 8km out of a rear...16km out of a front.

Regarding tire pressure, the mitas guy at mx1canada told me to run the rear at 30 psi, and 32 for the front. I personally run 32 rear, and 34-35 psi front
