Last weekend the wife and I went to to Deals Gap and stayed at Fontana Village for the weekend and ride the roads around the area. On the way there we decided to take the "dirt chreohala" or "gavelhala".
Here is a video of some of the sections of it. In the picture you can see the bridge is the Cherohala Skyway.
We enter at Bald River Falls and exited near Joyce Kilmer Rd.

I've ridden it many times. It's one of my favorites

I also like the section thru Joyce Kilmer along Lake Santeetlah

So many nice roads in that area.

years ago, like 10 or so......

The left you made after going under the bridge, the first down hill was not really maintained by the USFS. The road sort of was, I cant tell you how many people were afraid of it (on big bikes). It has gotten better over the years.

What tires are you running on the picure? I'm looking to try something new. I run Tourance or Anakee3
In that picture I was using the original Mitas E07's. Those were probably the best tires I have run on the Tenere.
Since then I have used the E07 plus, which gave great performance on and off road but short milage.
Currently I have the Motoz Tractionator GPS.
I like them on the gravel but I don't really like them on the pavement, especially wet pavement.

We were on it last weekend also. Never saw a s10 but I was on my 690. I passed 7 t700s back to back. Guess it was a press release or something.
