How will the rides be organized? Will GPS files be published before we get there? I'm interested in riding forest roads for a day or two, but I want to rides a bunch of twisties also.

I can take a few that want to ride some dirt and twisties. I won't be publishing any GPS routes though.

Hi Mike (Denali),

If you haven't visited the site here: http://yamahasupertenererally.com/2014/category/routes/ I've laid out as best I could of GPS files, descriptions, etc...

Butler Maps donated a few Ozark maps that I received the other day which cover the twisty portion of your question, but I'm not personally familiar with the forest service roads to confidently give you any pointers. The Butler maps will be available to use, but I ask that they not grow legs during the week so others can reference 'em, too. We'll have a whiteboard up for any volunteers who are local, or familiar with the area, and are willing to lead rides.

I'm a terrible travel guide, but some of those posts on the website above are what's on my agenda in no particular order. I'll be sporting Big Blocks and relying on my Rumbux setup for the type of stuff I'm aiming to do from the website.

Bug Dr. (the other Mike) mentioned earlier on being a ring leader from time to time, as has wfopete, but he hasn't registered yet so I'm not sure if he's a lock for being around on a consistent basis or just stopping by from time to time. There is also a local gentleman with an FJR that plans on hanging out.

I'd maybe utilize the resources I posted to get a game plan for the first day on Monday just in case, but after the Meet and Greet event on Monday night, I all but guarantee you'll find a group of folks with similar riding expectations as yourself.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Reminder to everyone else, registration ends Sunday night if you want a T-shirt. I'll need to submit the final numbers to my t-shirt guy so that they're done in time. Giveaway only registrations are still open for awhile after that, though. ::008::

Thanks for the info....I am looking forward to riding up there. I have not been to the Ozarks area since 2010... I did ride thru Arkansas in August...but I was just killing miles on the interstate.

At this point I plan to ride with my Tourance tires and not my big block tires...too many miles between here and Arkansas. I don't want to waste my good tires on that much asphalt.

When are some of you earlybirds planning on arriving in Arkansas? I'm leaving Florida and going to the Vintage Bike Fest in Barber Al. from the 10th to the 12th. After that I have friends to visit in Huntsville, but don't want to head to Arkansas too early unless there will be some earlybirds there already that might want to ride some.

Only 2 more weeks to go. I plan on leaving Atlanta on the 18th and will be at The Hub on Sunday mid afternoon the 19th. I am excited about this rally. Will be nice to but some faces to the folks on the board.

I'm leaving next Friday the 10th heading to Panama city then along the coast through Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and finally Arkansas.
Doing a nice loop through the south to cover 5 states missing on my map.

I'm torn between leaving Sunday morning and staying that night or early Monday morning.

Leaning towards Sunday, more time to ride some fun roads before the rest of the hooligans show up.

Just over one week until we start out. After 5 weeks working out of town and then away for three more weeks for this trip I'll have to reintroduce myself to wife and dogs.
Looking forward to my first visit to Arkansas as well as a couple of other states on the way there and back.
Doug

You've got to watch that Dougie. He tends to get rowdy when away from home. I saw him kill two beers and a turkey burger in one sitting at a bar in Williams Lake earlier this year. So keep an eye on him down in the land of cotton, where old times there are not forgotten ……. don't look away. R. ::015:: ::014:: ::012:: ::003::

How do I report this guy to the moderators. I thought what happens on he road stays on the road. Some times I'll have salad instead of fries.
Oh well we'll be flying the Canadian flag down there and we are thinking of you up in the frozen tundra Rem. Hope to see you for the Schroeder pay off party

Few more hours left before T-shirt signups are over, so one last bump.

Also, remember to go back and print off your ticket(s) that were originally emailed to you when you signed up (sender should be "Eventbrite" if you have to do a search). Each paid attendee should have one. This is the only way to be entered into the dinner and giveaway, so not a bad idea to make sure you don't forget. ;)

Should be a fun one ladies and gents. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.
