... help needed with answers, recommendations and suggestions...

Questions:
Other than the yellow fever, what are the other vaccines you have or need to have?
It is my understanding that a special bike insurance will be needed... where do we get that? ... at each country border?
Is the Temp Veh Permit just for Mexico ? ... is it extended to the other countries?
Do you buy the MedJet on a year basis or just for the trip?

Thanks for your input.

how soon are you planning to go? seems just google that question and you may get most of your answers... two wheeled Texans ( forum) are always going to mexico and they seem to buy at (insurance ) the border before crossing... you can probably ask your own insurance person about that and they should I think have some answers...

You most likely have all of these but...
... small umbrella
... set of spare batteries
... spare light(s)
... backup eyeglasses
... weather proof storage for your Passport
... insurance papers for ALL countries
... medical information
... personal emergency contact information
... motorcycle registration and ownership documents
... lip balm
... waterproof matches and striker
... fire starter that works in the rain - Wet Fire (REI)
... cotton balls and Purell Hand Sanitizer (for starting fires)
... para-cord and/or clothes line
... whistle
... pencil and note pad
... water storage. go to Starbucks and ask for a Cube. remove the cardboard and keep the silver container for water storage. does not weigh much or use much space.
... survival blanket

::008:: An addendum; Try to hand over only photo copies of your documentation, including the driver's license. Somebody may absolutely refuse a copy of something, so have the originals where you can get them.

Dukoral is the best stuff for your stomach. Worked like a charm for me. For routes and fun stuff, I did a blog on my trip in 2010.

It was a blog for friends and family, so some stories may not be relevant to you. But we found some gems along the way that are definately worth checking out. Also, buy insurance for Mexico. I didn't, wish I did.....

So Olie, did you go? How was the trip? What did you learn or would have done differently now that you've done it?
