I wonder if I should inject some of that "holy lube" into my bike as a "vaccination preventative" I was gonna say inject into my rearend but that just didn't sound right!
Here is the dirt route if I can get it to post.

Cool, Hodee! I downloaded your DOC file just fine, but for those of you who may have trouble with it for one reason or another, here it is:

Looks like a fun ride, but just for the record, most of those are not dirt roads... For instance, Crabapple, Lower Crabapple, Keese, Welgehausen, and some others are actually very narrow, PAVED county roads. I rode a bunch of those last fall, and even posted some of the pictures I took over on ADVrider. Don't get me wrong, they are great roads, with terrific scenery, etc., but I just wanted to point out that there may not be as much dirt on those routes as you might think.

One other note... Most of the roads named there are "open range" roads, with roaming livestock, lots of cattleguards, etc.

I love the routes, though! ::012::

Last minute decision, I'm going to head out in the morning and join the fun.
I will be camping and will probably choose the KOA over the Kerrville Park for the WiFi.

See you there,

Steve

I'm making up some chain drive conversion kits for the Tenere so some of you can make the trip! :)

Bet you're doing a brisk and profitable business selling those to the BMW guys!!! ::025::

Heading out myself here at 10:00am. Taking the long & winding route up to Kerrville, so won't be at the Y.O. until sometime this afternoon! ::001::

See all you folks attending soon! Looking forward to it! Ride safe! ::003::

Gotta' a new twist for Sunday... Does riding around one of the greatest road race tracks in the world qualify as "off-road"? ::025::

Yesterday I got an interesting email from the "Circuit of the Americas" over in Austin, and here's what it said:

"Allan,

MotoGP's season officially starts on Sunday, March 23, and we’re hosting a free Grand Prix of Qatar watch party. As a valued friend of Circuit of The Americas, we’d like to extend a personal invitation to you!

The race starts at 2pm and will be shown on the big screens in the Main Grandstand’s Velocity Lounge. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the watch party. Plus, show us you bought tickets to the Austin MotoGP race and you'll be entered into a sweepstakes for a VIP experience! Admission is completely free, and free parking is available in Lot A."

Now while that might not sound all that exciting, or worth riding from Kerrville to Austin for... Check out this next part of the invite:

"All fans who ride their motorcycles to the watch party will be treated to a free parade lap around the track* this Sunday! Participants must register at the ticket booth behind the Main Grandstand in Lot A from 10-11am. This is your chance to experience Circuit of The Americas the way your favorite MotoGP riders do for FREE."

Now that might be worth the ride... To actually ride a lap of the "Circuit of the Americas" on your Super Tenere! ???

I just RSVP'ed to cover my bases, and the reason I decided to post it here is that according to the RSVP I can take a *limited* number of folks with me if I decide to go. Might make for a fun afternoon, and there are plenty of cool, fun roads in between Kerrville and the track.

I'll post more info if anyone's interested, or PM if you have any questions.

I was on the COTA track last week and was thinking about how cool it would be to ride the bike on it!

I'm tuckered. I admit it. Great 9-5:30 run today with some crazy fun folks. Hey Fred, you might be the first 100mph KLR dude I ever rode with. :)
And the All you can eat catfish buffet to finish the day off? Simply perfect day.

Got back to HQ and some sexy Italians filled the parking spots. Think I can finagle a bike swap for a day? Lol

Had a fun ride with a bunch of wonderful folks here in Kerrville today. Weather was spectacular - temps started in the 60's this morning, climbed all day, and got into the 80's! Overcast in the morning, but then cleared off into a gorgeous, sunny day! Traffic was unbelievably light, with us often having some of the most legendary roads (like the "Twisted Sisters") all to ourselves!!! Riding the Texas Hill Country today was more exhilarating than it ever! ::001::

What a great group we had today. Some of the nicest people I've ever met, and each a joy to hang with. And more arriving tonight for tomorrow's ride! ::012::

Wish you guys that had to cancel could have made it, but hey, maybe we can make it an annual event! ::003::

See you guys in the hotel restaurant around 7:00am! Damn this is fun, but now I need *SLEEP*! :D

Thanks to everyone who attended, and I hope everyone will come ride here again in the future.

Weather Thursday & Friday was outstanding. But woke today to a pissy drizzle with a ceiling so low you couldn't see the Texas Hill Country countryside. :)
So the damp surface and the foggy visor had me dialed back a bit.
But alas, nothing could dampen the spirit of the weekend. I had already had a blast and it was great to meet up again with some of my friends I made in Colorado.
I bugged out after a short ride and shot over to San Antonio for a surprise visit to see my mom & dad. Broke bread, then hooked em to the coastal region before the cold front moves in tonight.

Thanks Dallara for all your selfless effort to make sure so many had a fun & safe time.

For those of us who had to cancel, plus all the other lurkers...more pictures, please.

Glad to hear it worked out so well for everyone. Sounds like Dallara put together a excellent event. ::008::

Yes pics please. I rode to New Braunfels in Oct to get my bike flashed. It was the weekend San Antonio got 12 inches of rain and most on the day I was gonna ride some Sisters to Kerrville. If they weren't calling for flash floods I probably would have rode but spent the day watching football. Show me what I missed.
