How strongly do you endorse the Heidenau K60s for the type of riding you do?
Great for confidence and traction in dirt; pretty normal on winding back roads; and a slight “thrum” on the highway, although not enough to bother me. I came from the stock Battlewings, and prefer the more 50/50 or 60/40 setup because I’m always looking for unpaved roads, gravel or dirt.

Very nice and entertaining read ! Great pictures ! So what model iPhone were you using for pictures on that trip ?
iPhone 7 Plus with the dual camera. I thought it was superb, but the resolution I’m getting on the XR almost exceeds my eyesight’s ability to appreciate it. Camera on new phone is just killer—and I just have the single lens variant, not the double lens XS.

Great report, both writing and photos. Thanks for posting.

We went to NS and Cape Breton in '11, had a wonderful trip. This reminds me how much I'd love to go back and spend longer.

Your pictures with iPhone 7plus were excellent.

I have to go back for longer and explore Cape Breton. The vistas look breathtaking and the riding is supposed to be world class. Don’t let time pass by without committing and going!

You know, the one thing I really didn’t write about was the Tenere itself, and how it fared as a riding companion. Here she is in Kejimkujik Nat’l Park.

FWIW, mine’s a 2013. Bone stock, and no clutch basket issues or any real mods. Stock panniers plus a (great) Kriega 20L tail bag. xScreen wind deflector on the stock windscreen, and airflow management is great. New Heidenau K60 Scouts (which I talked about earlier). Hard wired Garmin GPS and an iPhone bracket. Air hawk plus a sheepskin for the tush.

As it has on other trips, the Super T ran flawlessly. Not a hiccup. Great composure on the slab, even on the Heidenaus. As comfortable I think as a bike can get for tooling along from 60-80 mph.

On my dirt road venturing, great stability and grip with the new tires...much more confident than with the Battlewings. If I dropped the bike it would NOT be fun lifting it up; so even when I’m messing around in dirt I handle it conservatively and with respect. He who dances with a fat partner must avoid the dip.

I spent 6-8 hours each day in the saddle (whole trip was a little under 1,000 miles R/T). No real fatigue or sore points. The ONLY thing I could’ve used is cruise control (a la ES) or a throttle lock for some of the slab cruising. Wrist could’ve used a break. Other than that, the beast is as comfortable as it is unstoppable. Sometimes I make eyes at the GSes, but my heart belongs to the Tenner.

Great information for me as I am hoping for an early spring to ride my new 2018 ES.
The ES has cruise control, really looking forward to that. Sounds like a very comfortable and reliable motor.
Thanks

You're writing style is fantastically entertaining. Ride more so you can write more. Ride reports like these get me through the doldrums of winter. We're planning on going to Nova Scotia this summer and this is even making me even more excited. Thanks again for sharing and your follow up review of our beloved Super T.
