That STOL stuff is pretty cool. Lot of practice to be one of those pilots.

That first video is of a Just Aircraft Highlander with a STOL kit on it. I helped build one several years ago with the Jabiru 2200 engine - http://www.justaircraft.com/news.php#gsc.tab=0. They are based just over the hill from me in Walhalla, SC. That SuperSTOL can just about damn hover. It is an amazing machine.

As my username might suggest... I am a pilot - actually former pilot now that I sold my plane to go back to grad school. But on the plus side... I used the funds from selling that toy to get my Super Tenere!!

I was way into this kind of adventure flying. My goal was to fly as low and slow as I could to explore as much of the backcountry as possible. I had a trike which is a different form of STOL aircraft that was able to take off in about 100-200ft and land in maybe a tad longer. It was super fun and I am looking forward to getting out of school, eliminating debt, and then jumping into adventure flying again.

Adventure Flying, eh? It sure is cool. Never heard of it until the other day.
