I drove up to Omaha which is on the border of IOWA. I called my wife and asked her to give me the weather report. She said if you are thinking of heading south forget it. Tornado spotted in Texas and hail being reported across much of the nation with ferocious thunderstorms developing exactly on my path to Asheville, NC.
It was at that point where I decided that my mission to get to Mike in Asheville was squashed and my new mission was to stay dry and try to enjoy the time across the northern part of this great land. "So Iowa here I come"
Did about 50 miles on the highway 80 until I said to myself Let me check out some of Iowa. Here is what I discovered. I did have bigger balls and they were looking for a place to be seen apparently...
Went through this town
You could drink right from the stream...
2 miles cut through of gravel? Why not..
After another 100 miles on and off rt 34 I got into this little town called Mount Pleasant....So with my big balls Thought I would:::
But instead I got a hotel and some wine and made some phone calls to family and friends while I had cell coverage.....
Finished the day with exactly 400 miles total for the first two days.
