Topgear - I'm in your boat. Here's what I did to correct the problem. I'm 6'5" with a 38" inseam.
1- I've got Jaxon's long lines - In my opinion.... they are a requirement for the type of increase we are talking.
2- I bought 2" rox risers.
3- I bought an ATV High bar by Protaper in the 1 and 1/8th size. I've been down several times and have no bar bend
. There are a couple differences from the stock bars with this ATV high that I really like. If you read up online you can get exact specs, but in simple terms, the pullback angle towards the rider is less so there is less wrist bend. And the bars themselves are taller - they have more rise and height. I had this exact same setup on the XR650 and it was significantly better - but on the Tenere it is perfect.

I'm similarly dimensioned with exact same setup. Much improved over stock both standing and sitting.

That link shows you the page that will explain that differences between all the bar specs. I would highly recommend replacing the bars AND getting Rox risers to solve the problem. The new handlebar setup is significantly better for standing up - on top of the fact that it is taller.
Jaxon can get all the bars too btw-- so if you plan on ordering the cables from him, he can probably get you hooked up with the bars as well.
