6'5 here with a new to me 2013. Basically stock at this point but have stuff arriving daily it seems to start farkeling it up. So far haven't order anything height related besides 2" Rox and longer lines for the bike but am curious what some of you taller guys have done to make your Tenere even better than it already is. Typically for me at my height I end up replacing the stock windscreen for a tall one, Lowered pegs, and different seat. So what have you taller guys done?

1. Windshield and do you use an adjustable bracket of some sort? Wasp is no longer in business from what I understand.
2. What pegs do you use in the Lowboy position. Wanted Pivotpegz but they are not offered in a Lowboy for this bike.
3. Seat? Thinking I will just go with a Seat Concepts Tall...

Any other Suggestions? Different handlebars etc? Stock seem ok and will maybe even be better with the Rox as long as the sweep is still good.

Also needing some crash protection. Skidplate and crash bars. Wanted to get some Rumbux but EricV is out right now and needs 5 people to place an order. What else is good?

Any help is appreciated... Thanks

Also 6'5"
I have a madstad bracket with a 24 in Parrabellum WS. I added a MRAx-screen tourer.
I have stock pegs but have been looking at Pivot pegz. I have read that they do work in the low position.
I just added highway pegs by using motowerks brackets and Rivco pegs, they work great to get my hips forward on long rides.
I went with a Seth Laam seat and I like it so far.
I also added mirror extenders to see past my shoulders
Let me know if you need more details on the highway pegs.

I'm 6' 2" or so. SW Motech pegs in the higher of their 2 lower than stock positions, stock seat in high position with thick sheepskin cover and bar risers are working for me. And I have the screen as low as possible to minimise turbulence. Bike is comfy to ride all day for me now.

6'3" what works for me is 1" handlebar risers, installed two 5/16" flat washers under seat lock bolt, then added 1/4" thick rubber washers under front part of the plastic seat tray and took the seat to the local seat upholstery shop and they cut 1" out and added 3" of high density foam and a Madstad bracket with a 22" Parellabelium windscreen (need air).

Jimmy, Does the Givi airflow clean up any of the buffeting. I called and talked to Parabellum and asked the guy about the Extra tall windscreen. First thing he asked me was how tall I was. I said 6'5. Soon as I said that he said the screen won't work for you. He said it's not tall enough and that people our height don't have a choice because a windshield any taller will not be stable on the bike.. He basically told me don't bother... I thought that was strange... But glad he was honest..

Also are you riding with the Winglets? If so what brand? or is there only Yamaha winglets?

While I'm only 6'3" I do have rather long legs (36" inseam) and gorilla like arm length (6'5"). I just spoke with Seat Concepts last week about a tall seat...they stated they don't offer one. For me I found the handle bar height is fine but the pull back is too much. I think Yami did so much to help reduce the reach. Wrist position is my issue....if its not right I'm just miserable. For bars, generally the Henry/Reed bar is my go to bar. As for shields, so far I've found shorter is better. I've purchased two larger shields and only made it worse. I'm going to purchase the Madstad bracket and along with stock shield should really stop the buffeting. I don't have problems with my knee's so seat to peg height is just fine. I use to do lots of long distance riding on sport bikes. Just never an issue with hip or knee positions.

6' 6"

I would raise the seat another 1" if I had time and money.

Other than that I am happy.

On a good note, these bikes are made for tall guys. At 6'3, I found sitting and leg room just right. The windscreen on the other hand was too short on the '13. Hopefully the '14 is bigger like they say. If so, I will have a '14 tomorrow. :)

Givi windshield on a Madstad, 2" Rox risers, Fastway pegs, and a seat concepts seat. Great combo.

At 6ft3, I manage just fine with the stock equipment except that I have Yamaha touring screen on a Touratech rake and height adjustable mount and I use the Yamaha side wings. This combination seems to be good enough for good protection with not too bad turbulence. Higher seat??? Jeez, I have enough trouble swinging my leg over what is already a tall bike but, on reflection, I suppose that is mostly about the pillion height. Knee angle is better than many current bikes though I'd like the footpegs a bit further forward but not enough to do anything about it and I have arthritic knees and am just about to get a replacement hip joint. It's surprising what a difference merely rotating the bars in the clamps makes to handlebar height and comfort.

6'5" and big fan of Givi Airflow. Have it mounted on Touratech bracket; no buffeting. Spent the $$ for a Bill Mayer seat upgrade which added 1-2" to stock.

6'3" 32" inseam I have the stock screen, Wasp Works wind screen bracket and full blown high seat concepts seat in low position.
I am happy with it but us tall guys never get full satisfaction on any bike as I see it.

6' 4" and got a Madstad bracket and V-Stream medium shield. The rest of the bike is fine. The seat isn't great, but I get along with it for now. If I did many 800 mile+ days, I'd swap it for something else.

Specific part numbers for the combo, and a pic of how/where (i.e. crash bars?) you mounted them would be really helpful ::003::

6'5" here. Bike bought used with 2" risers (not ROX) on it already. Also had a tall windscreen that I swapped back to OEM cause the very top edge of the screen split my direct line of sight and was very annoying and made me feel unsafe. Probably a perfect storm thing of my torso height and screen height though.

As far as armored protection and lowered pegs... be careful that what you decide on matches your riding style. In other words, if you want to treat your Tenere as the WLDB and ride it aggressively offroad, go ahead and get something like the Rumbux or RideOnADV+Altrider or ACD+Altrider so that your skid mounts to something other than the engine casing. And also be very careful about lowering footpegs if you ride offroad. I lost both one ride (not on my Tenere) cause I had unknowingly lowered them down into the impact zone in my efforts to fit myself on the bike better.

Some great suggestions here on how to make it more Tall guy Friendly. Loving the bike so far even in it's stock form. I've been doing a bunch of online shopping and have bought a few different Farkles for it. Some will help impove it and make it more tall guy friendly and some are just niceties that I like to put on my bikes. Here is what I have ordered so far. Half the fun is putting all the stuff on the bike...

Sena 20s Dual Pack
Garmin Zumo 660 with Touratech Mount
Touratech Windscreen adjustable bracket
Givi AirFlow windscreen
Wolfman Rainier Tank Bag
Rox 2" Risers
Extended lines for raising bars from Jaxon
AltRider Crash bars
Eastern Beaver Fuse box PC8
Oxford Heated Grips
Omni Cruise

Now time to go work some OT to pay for all of this....
