That’s a very good point gv550, I forgot about that.

If I use my panniers and Givi top box, I have to move the TB in order to open the panniers. Not a matter hassle, but something to bear in mind.
The 42 litre Givi top box avoids that issue, both panniers will open with the box in situ and the top box allows you to get your helmet in there - unlike the original Yamaha box

Altrider & SW Motech rear racks have storage cubbys under the top plate....thats where I got my idea for more storage space to fit a box in

same here. I'm seriously considering getting givi panniers but for 99.9% of my riding I only need the top box.

I had the sw motech top box and it keep breaking the 110mm bolts supplied with the motech rack, got rid of it. The box was to tight on the rack partly my fault and the bolts are the week point, so which ever top box you get let it have free play on the rack. The bolts shear off level with the sub frame. Not great. Good luck with it.
