I cannot believe I am having such a hard time with Gaia. I forget the guys name from Colo, maybe he can help a brother out.

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the Map Layers and you'll see the "Add Layers" option:

Once you click the "Add Map Layers "plus sign", it'll open that whole library available to you. You can search through them all or just use the search (try typing "ecplipse" in the search box):

@patrickg450 , I bought the 7" Carpuride a few days ago, no trouble pairing my Samsung Galaxy S21 but having trouble getting my Sena SRL to pair up. The Carpuride shows the SRL as found but won't connect, SRL just keep beeping as if it hasn't found anything to pair to. Can you offer any advise?
Get a Cardo? :p

Do you for certain that Cardo will pair to Carpuride?
While I was joking (sorta), I have no problem with either my Cardo Freecom1 or Cardo HD. Just be aware that for some weird reason (known problem) the "play", "skip", and "stop" buttons on the BT headset don't function when paired, you have to use the corresponding buttons on the Carpuride to control the music. On a plus side, the equalizer functionality provided by the Carpuride is a really nice feature.

I'm sure the Sena will work fine, just may take some dicking around to get it working.

mine had some pop up (on the Capuride) that mentioned Audio out. I think yu need to pair the Sena to the phone, then pair the phone to the Capuride. Then in the settings set the audio output to the Sena

Got it, thanks. Sena needs to be paired to audio output. Working great. I can not use the touch screen with any of my gloves, only works with my bare fingertips.

I have a new Oukitel RT3 incoming to replace my Tab Active 2. I'll provide my thoughts on it when I get it set up. My main app will be Drive Mode Dashboard, DMD2 with Guru and OsmAnd secondary. The TA2 works well with the exception of not having enough internal storage. The Googles won't grant permission for the DMD2 app to access the SD card. Farging bastages! Anxious to see how a "better, stronger, faster" tablet compares to what I am used to. The RT3 was $100 new from a private seller on FleaBay.

Shameless plug...TA2 will soon be for sale.

Sorry for the late response Jax.....

Yes using Gaia from my Android phone to the following....

I paid $229 a few days back, ben traveling for work so time is getting away from me. So far I like it as it is just like my Pioneer head unit in my 2003 Ford. The Android Auto has come along way and I think it is pretty good. Gaia I am still mad at........

Gaia is a navigation app? So OsmAnd app would work with Carpuride as well?

No quick release powered mount is a bummer. Except for the BMW version but then you need the BMW base. I wonder if the BMW mount is available at a reasonable price and easily adapted to a RAM mount.

So do you guys just always leave the unit on the bike? I travel solo 99% of the time and worried about rest stops, grocery runs, etc. where bike is not in my eyesight. I guess for overnight stops removing by RAM mount and disconnecting power is not too bad but not ideal either.

My luck would be shortly after purchasing they come out with a quick release mount version.

I just leave it on the bike and don't worry about it, although I do use one of these for a bit of security theater:

If someone has a wrench in their pocket to remove the ball that's bolted to the accessory bar, or is otherwise intent on stealing it, ain't nothing going to stop them anyway.

Thanks for that link, I didn't know those existed. That strikes a happy medium for me security wise. Prevents the quick and easy RAM twist and dash off with the unit.

Once you guys get enough seat time in I would like to hear about cell phone battery life. Cell phone using Google maps with BT to Sena versus cell phone to Carpuride running Google maps via Android auto and BT to Sena. Does Carpuride use cell battery faster? Approx how much?

I can run Google maps all day with my cell phone tucked safely in my pocket. I only use it for turn by turn voice navigation. Biggest drawback to this is having to stop at every waypoint to use cell phone touch screen to tap continue. That is why I want Carpuride, to be able to touch screen to continue route without stopping.

My 1290 has a little "glovebox" with a USB charging port, I just toss the phone in there and plug it in while I'm traveling....stays fully charged all the time. On the S10, I used a quadlock mount with wireless charging to achieve same results.

My newer iPhone can last for a good portion of a day.
The older iPhone would maybe get two hours tops.

One of the biggest problems with the phones is when it gets wet. Charging stops once the charge port senses moisture. A wireless charging mount could be an answer, but the other problem is with losing control of the screen when it's wet.

I would LOVE to get rid of the f*cking Garmin if it weren't for those two issues. Apple, Google, and Android have been out for how many years showing how to make maps work, yet Garmin is still plodding along with the worst user interface ever.

Exactly. Wireless charging fixes problem #1 but I still had to throw a plastic sandwich bag "raincoat" on the phone to keep it from running amuck when the screen got wet. It's definitely maddening how cell phones can be waterproof to several feet yet completely lose their shit when some water drops start running across the screen.

I was introduced to phone navigation when Honda added Android Auto to my 2018 Goldwing in 2021, up until then I only used Garmin zumo. I then bought a Samsung s21 and a data package to use on my Goldwing, running android auto and Waze along with amazon music. On the Goldwing, the phone needs to be connected to the bikes data port, AA will not work wireless. Last year we replaced our 2016 vehicle with a 2023 Jeep with their latest nav package and wireless phone charger, and I use it with Waze and amazon music. The Carpuride now allows me the same features on my T12 and Harley, as it’s easy to move from one bike to the other (both bikes have an extra Ram ball for mounting it) and Carpuride comes with 2 wire harnesses.
So, comparing my three applications;
On the Honda, it’s a bit of a nuisance to always connect the phone and in the proper sequence to get everything to pair, but when working it is nice to be able to use left handlebar controls to access Waze and music (Honda does not have a touch screen). Even with the phone plugged in all the time, it barely keeps up with battery charge. If it’s at 50% in the morning it would not yet be fully charged at the end of the day.
With the Jeep, the phone will actually go dead on the wireless charger, I have to plug it in after several hours of driving. With my long legs I need the seat all the way back which makes me reach to use the touch screen, and take my eyes off the road. Steering wheel controls would be better for me.
With Carpuride, my fully charged phone will go 3-4 hours while in my pocket. I have a charge cord inside my tank bag when needed and the phone will go to full charge within a few hours while using Waze and music. Again, the touch screen is a nuisance, particularly since it doesn’t work with any of my gloves, and have to take my eyes off the road.
