I went to a machine shop near by and the owner make new 14 mm treads on my oil pan (made from aluminium) to fit a bigger plug. He did this on my bike directly on his working table . Wow what a nice job. For 150$…
After all the holes are lined up and everything bolted together I don't think there is much room for adjustment. Since my bike was new and I was anticipating multiple oil changes I took it back off. I don't have the tools to cut into that type or thickness of aluminum to make the adjustment to the holes. I did mark where the holes need relief but haven't pursued that. You could mark the holes and a machine shop could make the modification. Or send it back, but if you're wanting some protection there is not much out there. You could probably drill an offset hole then connect it to the current hole with an angle grinder and cutoff wheel and a little file work smooth everything out. Might look like ass or if you're good and patient turn out well.
I don’t think there’s any way to adjust it much but if you removed it and took it to a welding shop they could make the holes line up better. Mine lines up fine. Take some pictures before you remove it so the shop can pretty easily see exactly what needs to be done.
