Well Gang, thanks for the feedback. I made the switch today, from the Blue and White Propeller to the Silver Tuning Fork!

I cut a deal today on a new 2013 Silver/Gray Tenere, After some chatting and number crunching, I took the Tenere for a forty mile test ride. To be fair, the new 1200GSWC had more zip, and was smoother. But the S10 just seemed to work for me. Slightly lower tech than the BM, but enough to satisfy me. It seemed comfortable at reasonable speeds. The bike was brand new and going to be mine, so I took it easy. But I tried city, country roads, highway behind a semi at 80 mph, and it seemed to handle it all really well.

One of the things that impressed me most, was the slow/low speed manners. The bike was super stable at really low speeds. Something I don't think most moto-journalists care about. But I found it conforting. Went through many stop signs on the demo and rarely had to put a foot down.

I am sure I would have liked the GSWC, but I felt the need to give the S10 a go. I had one preordered prior to the Sunami and had to cancel due to trip constraints.

I added side bags and top case, grips and wings, most of which will not be in by Thursday when I pick up the bike.

Having been quoted $1,000.00 to do the 12,000 mile service on my BM, I was pleased to see the valve check intervals on the Tenere are 26k. The rest looks pretty straight forward. I really liked my RS, but I'm looking forward to a more dirt worthy ride.

Thanks again for all the feedback.

This bike just keeps winning me over. Absolutely right about the slow speed balance of the bike.
Consider the reflash of the ECU and a aftermarket exhaust the difference is ::015::

On a BMW, they pretty much turn the bike inside-out looking at stuff, the final drive has to come off so the fluid can be changed, it's pretty extensive and time consuming.

Yes, it was costly, most of the expense comes from the servo brake system flush.

I looked up the parts to do It myself. Total parts came to $87.00 my cost. The rest is labor. Servo brake flush, valve adjust, final drive oil, engine oil, air filter, and so on.

That was really slowed me down on the New Water Cooled GS, that and the closest dearler is hours away.

The Tenere seemed to suit my riding style well. Mind you it was only a thirty mile test ride. I don't need to get there first, I just need to get there.

It is the best color for this Beast. Yamaha nailed it with those hues. Smart looking.

I'm torn. I like the white the best but every time I see a grey one I can't help but be impressed.

I like the white if it's dressed up real nice. It's like a canvas for a painting. Add some contrast farkles to it.

But that grey looks good bone stock. Doesn't need anything.

So sweet in this color. I suggest you put some pads on the tank where knees are, to avoid going from matte to glossy grey.

Wish you plenty careless miles.

Well, I got the "Tenere Rain Test" out of the way yesterday.
About sixty miles worth, forty of that was a toad strangler.
No drama, bike did fine.

All went well except my pretty new bike doesn't look like it rolled off the showroom floor anymore.

Going in for the 600 mile service Thursday, also getting the bags and grips installed.

Never had a topcase before, kind of interested to see if I like it.
