Hey everyone!

I'm thinking of adding a switch to standard power outlet that will allow it to be used either in a constant-on condition
or in a switched-on (as is) condition. Before I start down that path, I thought I'd solicit opinions from the collective
to see what other options have been done.

So, what have you done, how do you like it and how would you do it different the second time?

I did a quick search and didn't find any relevant info but my search skilz aren't the best so sorry if I'm ::002::

I added the Eastern Beaver PC-8 fuse box to mine....gives me the option to make it either switched or unswitched. There are many other fuse block assemblies that give you the same sort of options and it may be just a matter of personal opinion and taste to which one you use. The nice thing about using the PC-8 is that it allows me to hook up my other accessories as well (fog lights, led lights, heated gear, etc.). Just my .02 cents.

I went to the auto parts store and bought an $8 power distribution block and a relay to make it switched. Then rewired the OEM cigarette lighter so it can handle more that 3 amps for air compressors and such. However, I did not run it through the power distribution block because I don't want it switched. That way I can recharge my phone and comm units while camping.

I suck at verbal descriptions. What I'm thinking of doing is a rocker switch that'll allow me to choose between switched and un-switched modes of operation.

Thanks for all the links everyone, there's lots of good info there!
