Well, looks like I may not have to wait that long afterall. Just got an email from TT stating that they will be shipping out the bars. SWEET!!!!!!

That was fast TT!!! Redesigned bars look to be on their way very soon......well, they better be the redesigned new and improved and NOT some get by, we have these hanging around, someone returned them so we modified them to cut our losses, etc., etc., etc.

Just sayin' TT!!! Just sayin'!!!
Well, that's unfortunate. Kevin just called and, yup, they were NOT the new redesign. They were a set of bars that someone else had returned and are of the old design.

Uhh, what happened here?

Just so you guys know we have no more crashbars in stock at the moment. Any bars shipped from this point forward will be the re-designed bars. The will naturally be several weeks out minimum but they will fit without issue. Wwe have to thank Yamaha for making subtle changes to the American S10.....

Kev
I guess the bars he was sending weren't "any bars."

Poor form and, for me, strike one. It would have been something entirely different had TT called to see, "Hey, we have these bars.........". The only reason I got this call was because I posted what I did.

I'm going to look around to see who else is making something to confirm I want/need to wait until the end of October for the redesign.

Went with the Givi bars. Not worthwhile to wait until October for these as I have some dirt rides coming up and I just want to feel comfortable having bars in place and the Givi look great and you can't beat the price point.

Still holding on that the back order SW skid plate comes through though. My Kaoko throttle lock marked as shipping soon so that is coming. All I have left on backorder is the skid plate and a pigtail connector for the tank bag. Getting close to being done with the farkles!

Is there any update on this?
I was hoping for the SW Motech and Pelican set-up from Twisted Throttle because they are a site sponsor, but only if the fit and finish is good and they don't stick-out too much in the wrong places.

Is that the crashbars or the pannier racks? I'm still in need of a set of crashbars.

For crash bars, I strongly recommend the Givi offering.

Sorry... I wasn't clear - the Side Carriers are here. The crashbars are expected (tenatively) the end of November or the beginning of December.

Yea, I also recommend the Givi bars. And the best part is you don't have to buy them from SW-Motech... ::025::

13 months later: I ordered SW-Motech crash bars from Twisted Throttle along with the Sw-Motech GPS mount and some RAM items. A couple of days later I get notice that Twisted Throttle does not have the GPS mount in stock?? I’m under the impression that SW-Motech has good stuff. So do not worry and reorder the mount else ware.

Today go to mount up the crash bars with some other accessories. Get to the Crash bars and see they are attached with six fasteners, and think, cool, piece of cake. Three hours later and sweating like a mule I have the crash bars installed. What a piece of shit these things are. The fit is horrible, the provided bolts are made out of butter, and the SW Motech tags aren’t attached very well and the paint finish is poor.

But on the plus side they bend quite a bit if you simply drop the bike. ::)

If you want a backup I have an unbent left side I'll sell you cheap. ;D That way you have have a replacement if you ever drop it on the left side.
