1. Closest ADV Training to GA area is a minimum 8/10 hour ride to the location.
2. Very few if not none focus on training for SuperTenere Riders.
With these two points in mind, I set about looking at options - proactively over the part month or so - to see whether a training weekend could be set up in the GA area.
And it is happening. I've managed to get Alain from Xplor-Int (Romney regulars will know him) to come down to GA for a weekend worth of ADV training.
Minimum 10 riders needed with a max of 12. 2 days training. Suches area would have been ideal. But location, lodging, training area facilities, logistics etc.. made it a little difficult to lock down. Next best options were 'Motorcycle Resorts'. Few around the area. DurhamTown was an easy choice - varied terrain, lodging (camping/cabins), food - all available onsite.
I would like to see this ADV weekend training to be an all Super Tenere affair.
In the event Super Teneres can't max out to 12, the event will be thrown open to non-Super Teneres. (Already have 2 Africa Twins, 1 Triumph and a GS rider chomping at the bits!)
Putting together the final info pack to share with Alain's help. (Great guy to work with. Responsive. Flexible and very helpful)
Teaser Details:
Dates: Aug 24-Aug26 (Aug 25, Aug 26 being the training days)
Location: Durhamtown Off Road Resort | Trails | Tracks | Rentals | Lodging
And now 'fingers crossed' mode.
