Who knows. We all have ours, and 99% of guys are happy (wfopete is the 1% ::015::)
Like the previous vstrom owners said... 2002 till 2012, and they are still making it.

yes it might get a re-fresh, if the changes are significant enough, and worthwile of a trade, then yes I will trade up.
But for the time being, funnest, most reliable, do it all rig I have ever ridden. Enjoy it. ::001::

I know wfopete likes to ruffle feathers, but I think he is misunderstood by his blatant posts about the bike. I don't think he does not like his bike. He is first and foremost a dirt bike rider, and is under no illusions that the Tenere is a dirt bike. It is a street bike that can go off the beaten path if necessary, and that does not make it a dirt bike, per se. I mean, you could do a Track Day on the Tenere for Christ's sake, but that does not make it a road racer. He just likes to beat the point to death.

I mostly agree with him: it is no dirt bike, and no amount of mods or discussion will make it one. There is no true dirt bike that weighs this much. But it is a great any distance all road bike. I find it a better road bike for rough back roads than the FZ it replaced, or any road bike I've ever ridden. That's also why I have a WR250R as well.

However, I'm not selling opinions, so no one has to buy. Or agree.

It was sort of a disclaimer. Many have problems with differing opinions.
Sad but true.

In my 20's, I don't think I was aware of others opinions. (The moron decade)
In my 30's, I woke up a bit and was shocked that others could be so wrong.
In my 40's, I let it get me all worked up. This is also the decade of my children being in their teens.

In my 50's, I'm a free man. (Again) Just like my 20's, but for completely different reasons. I AM aware that I am in the minority. It just doesn't bother me. I refuse to draw swords.

Differing opinions are now my entertainment. I marvel at our species.

But get the Tenere. :)

Wait util your mid 60's when it just does not matter. Absorb the information you want and let the rest go away. The Tenere is a good adventure motorcycle but so is the KLR. Both largely based on price.

Exactly. I work around (but not for) many highly educated individuals, many with multiple degrees, some that firmly believe that they have all of the answers to everything. Sometimes they're right, sometimes not. The always right ones can't stand not to have everyone agree with them on everything. I can tell you this: if I had all the answers, I wouldn't be doing what I do, and would be doing other things. But since I'm a dolt, I have to continue.

Impossible xt1200z be discontinued soon. This rumor is false. Before 2015 the bike will not change. Who knows Yamaha knows she takes a long time to change a product and would not be different with a major motorcycle brand. ::002::

I was on the Yamaha Canada website today. The 2014 models are all shown, but the ST is conspicuously absent. Of course, that is not conclusive. Yamaha could always introduce the 2014 ST at a later date, but it does make me wonder. ::017::I am very happy to have mine, anyway.

Well, the Yamaha Canada site doesn't show 2014 models for the FJR1300, YZF-R1, FZ1, YZR-R6, FZ6R, TT-R230, TT-R125LE, TT-R125L, TT-R110E, TT-R50E, or PW50 either, but I doubt that means Yamaha is dropping them from their line-up.

Just FYI...

My dealer does not show the 14 as being able to order. However he is now showing the 2014 wr250r. I had hoped they had dropped the 250r and replaced it with a 350 or 400.. ::012::

Looks like they dropped everything and are making them all triples. A PW50 triple should be able to rev it's rings off literally.

I know all the 6 years olds have been crying out for more character. :D

It is still with us, with subtle upgrades and a few fixes for the annoying stuff.

Yes, cruise control, electronic adjustable suspension, gear indicator and a four position adjustable screen.
