Nope, I think they got that wrong. From the Yamaha site:
"•8-valve cylinder head optimizes the fuel charge for spirited performance."

Like Combo says, if more people tried it they would most likely like it as well. Pretty cool bike.

5 valves though? That's old-school Yamaha.

Well, they still use it on the WR250F and the FZ-1, for now. But yeah, the ST definitely has only 4v per cylinder. He also states the rear shock is compression adjustable but we all know it's only preload and rebound adjustable.

Oh well, for ATV guys, they now really appreciate what it can do. Seems they had no idea such machines existed.
