ST RECALL

here is an image of the recall that Yamaha has made for up to the 2013 model. It's seems that 2014 faults does not gave the headlight conector failure.

Center stand is featured for 2014 base model on US website.

On yamahamotorsports.com, the US website, the last item listed under additional features:

"Both side stand and center stand are provided for complete parking convenience." It is the exact same language for both the 2014 base model and the 2014 ES model.

The photographs in the "Gallery" also clearly show the 2014 base model equipped with a center stand.

I am going to order a base model 2014 and if it shows up without a center stand I am going to ask Yamaha to make it right.

Since the 2014 model has a different set of handlebar clamps, the whole geometry of the upper triple clamps and handle bar clamps is still unknown for the accessories dealers. The good thing is that the handlebar risers and clamps are not forged in one piece with the triple clamps, son one can change bits and parts without having to change the whole triple clamps assembly, as it was a whole unit in the previous models.

For example, to install a steering damper I find 2 problems. The handlebar clamps are not set at 90 degree angle in relation to the triple clamp, they are offset some 30 degrees, so it's likely I will have to change those handlebar clamps for a 90 degree angle ....and it seems to me they are way to wide between the in relation with the fixed, forged clamps of the 2013 model.

The clutch switch is different than the V1. Nos it includes two micro switchs inside. One is for the clutch and the other seems to be for the cruise control.

BTW, I damaged both micro switchs while fidling with the clutch switch. I managed to repair it but I am not sure of the 2014 model will benefit from this hack.
