I had a spare pair of police handcuffs lying around with the one side stuck in the locked position, so I cut it off and put the single cuff through the front brake disc. Works well, but is prone to rust, so apply WD40 once in a while. And it doesn't take up much space when not in use. Also good idea to attach some string or lace to it and hook it around the throttle every time you use it, to remind you every time you start start up! Had a XT500 and tried the same with the largest padlock I could get and put it through the rear sprocket. One morning late for work, just heard a big "clunk" and it became scrap metal. The old XT didn't even feel it.
