Translation...
I'm selling a kit to turn your puny bike into a BMW GS 1200 for your afternoon aperitivo.

Why grinding lots of kms on your bike if you can park it in front of the bar all day long while other people eyeball it and you drink and play angry birds?

yeah, because you now have a poor man's bike, but with few bucks you too can have the boxer and the beak!

This kit has been made by myself after many hours of work with autoCad and many circuit tests, in order to garantee you a peaceful drinking.

Try and see for yourself! In the package you can find the instruction manual and a box of glue, so you can stick your hand to the handle and be sure you're not going to wave other bikers.

GS riders catch a lot of shit for being posers, maybe too much. I'm sure there are Tenere posers as well. I try not to judge (ok, that's probably bs), but when I see a dual sport bike for sale pimped out with every imaginable adventure add-on with 3500 miles on it, that reeks poser to me. And I see a lot of those. At the same time I can relate. Big plans run smack into reality sometimes and the big trip to Tierra del Fuego never happens. Makes for great deals on used adventure bikes, though!

Never too much.. ::025::

Look I think it's important to separate out the fashionistas from the real riders. The real riders know why they are riding one and the others are worried about their resale value.

I mean it's bad enough that, being a bike washer, I avoid stopping until I have taken a detour down a dirt road. ;D

Hey graham maybe we shouldn't be too hard on the posers as imagine how much an adventure bike would cost if only real riders bought them. They probably wouldn't even sell enough to keep producing them. Cheers michael

Sportsbikes riders were/are the same. I would reckon that MOST used bikes of any kind that are for sale in the uk have pretty much zero miles on them. I wonder why I always struggle to sell mine that often end up with 1,000,000+ on them. Mmmmmm

Well you do have a good point there. They do provide a valuable service. Humor, depreciation and volume.

Yes, they are also a boon for good riders after good deal on a low Km Ducati. (last years model of course)

And don't forget Carbon Fibre pushbikes.

OK from now I'll be a fashionista worshiper.

I must be a borderline poser, I have crash bars, skid plate, Wilburs shock, huge metal cases and only clock up about 6,000 miles, of which 99% on are tarmac.

Do I need these things :question:

Well I have learned (the hard way) just knocking your bike over on the drive / in the garage can cause a lot of damage, huge metal bars would not look good on a Fireblade, and imply you are some sort of moron that cannot balance a bike, but on the S10 they look OK and save me the worry of mashing up my bodywork the next time I do something stupid at 0mph.

The bash plate is not for riding across 12 inch rocks, but simply to stop all the road crap plastering my engine and chipping the black paint off, maybe not its intended use, but works for me.

Well lets see..

Do you

A) Fall over a lot and never make to a cafe'
B) make up the 6000Km by doing 300-600 trips to a cafe'
C) Actually ride the bike on a few trips that might include a cafe / pub / B&B / motel?
D) As above but managing to cross a few state borders as well.
E) Ride 6000km but only in Mardi Gras parades.

I guess I should get rid of some of my other toys so I can put more miles on my new Super 10. With 2 bikes, a Jeep, an F150, and a boat, it's hard to put a crapload of miles on just one of them.
I'll put a skid plate and crash bars on my Super 10 and probably not put a zillion miles on it. 42 years of riding taught me that a little bit of protection goes a long way.
When you've been riding for over 40 years, you can strike whatever pose you want.
Now a 1200GS, that's unnecessary posing ::013::
