My 2014 tenere has been as smooth as silk until just over 5,000mls . Then as i set off for a tour of spain i noticed vibration coming through the brake and clutch levers , at about 4,500 revs not much but was definitely not there before , and ive still got it now with 7,500mls on it . Tried all different things to trace were its coming from , thought it might have been the engine bars took them off ..no difference...changed screens ..no difference. ..thought it might be a dodgy spark plug so changed them... still the same ..any ideas ? ....?

Have you had the TB's sync'd? Could be that.

Have you checked your break calipers/pads and rotors, tires for strange wear pattern and tire pressure, steering head torque.
And last but not least spokes and rims are true?
I do remember I was getting a weird vibe to the bars around 80 miles or so into my ride to Moab before my rear rim and spokes started coming unhinged.

TB sync may help but also tires... Tires would be my #1 pick and TB sync my 2nd but you need a big lack of adjustment to feel a vibration. First symptom would be hesitation when opening the throttle.

i dont think its anything to do with running gear or wind hitting the screen as ive took it up to 4,500rpm shut the throttle & pulled in the clutch [ letting it free wheel ] and the vibs stop ? the bike runs smoothly ...

I had the same issue with my bike, and went through the list like you did. Dealer couldn't find anything wrong - 5k miles later, it fixed itself.

I had a similar issue; weird subtle vibration that set in on a previously smooth running bike. In my case, a throttle body synch did the trick. I also changed the plugs at the same time; one of them looked a little grody, and that could have been contributing to the problem.

I think changing the plug would have more of an effect than the throttle body synch. That adjustment is just a trim on air bypassing he throttle valve. There is no adjustment I can find that actually synchronizes the throttle valves. They are on a common shaft. The screw adjustment should only affect low engine speeds, near idle. The effect is swamped when the throttle is open a sizable amount.

having tb balanced next week ...see how that goes ?
Curious to know what method they employ, apparently an inmate on here had their's done by the dealer that said they used the 'new' method but failed to state what that was. If that knowledge is passed onto you I would like to know what that is........

....well....... solved the vibration problem ..yes.. it was the throttle bodies that were out . my son in law came by yesterday with his vacuum gauges an ex bmw mechanic [ he can tell some horror stories about bmw,s :D ] anyway they were out quite a bit and when i took it out for a test ride it was back to its lovely smooth self ....however the feeling of relief was soon over when i discovered my mode switch had stopped working [ the switch to change it from "T" to "S" mode] on closer inspection the switch felt very loose like it has come apart inside ..so will be getting that sorted under warranty ..but so nice to have my bike back to health as the tenere is by far the best bike ive ever owned...

The mode switch requires the throttle to be completely closed for it to operate....if you effected the throttle stop position/idle speed when doing the throttle bodies that could be your problem.
